Only when the sun doesn’t shine

I’ve had to recharge my s3pro twice… Only lasts about a month.

Yes, I’m going to have to take mine down and charge it tomorrow, this is the first time I’ve had to do this.

Mine literally hasn’t charged anything using solar.

Yes we’re having the same issue, wonder why that would happen to many people? Weird. I would love a solution because it’s really difficult for me to get my outdoor camera down to charge it.

Same. I brought them with solar to avoid the awkward taking them down to charge.

My S3 pro has not been charged by the inbuilt solar yet as I bought them in the winter time. Just waiting to see how it will charge during the summer months to give my conclusion :upside_down_face:

My other solar cameras seem to charge reasonably well even with the lack of sun. But the s3 pro not at all.

I have 3 S3 camera solar power but I have gigantic maple trees that blocks the Sun 75% of the time so I put the all camera on battery only and 2 that are blocked more often I put an external solar panel and solve the problem. If you would like a photograph of my camera placement setup let me know here.

Has anyone reached out to the manufacture regarding this? And if you’ve had it for less than 30 days, I’d say return it for a replacement or money back for a different brand.

No issues here.

As to a camera not charging at all, I can’t guess the fault and you may need to have it returned or repaired if the return date has passed.
If it’s not charging properly then, it could be the placement of the camera including the angle of the solar panel to the sun rays. And let’s not forget in the late fall to winter months we have less sun intensity so less solar rays to charge the units, so it’s best to go in the settings and set the camera for shorter recording time, like where it would stop the recording after the motion stops etc. FYI, in cold months, batteries tend to lose some of there power a bit faster.

Without knowing where your camera is placed…it might be just a matter of checking the ANGLE of the cameras built in, or attached solar panel. Even if there is ample exposure to sun light…they will not charge properly if the angle of the solar panel is not correct.

We haven’t had any issues, not yet anyway. Is everyone’s solar panel facing east?

We’ve had a similar experience. I thought it was because of the sun position (winter season) but even after repositioning the panels they seem to have trouble charging. We’ll see how they do come summer time…

I have two S330’s. Both on the same ledge, same level, same angle. One charges 100%, the other, no so much. Either its defective, or just getting tired with age.
I’ve another, but admittedly, it’s experiencing Winter shade. It won’t make the season, so I’ve got to endanger myself on a ladder to recharge.
Eufy isn’t the best, but what/who lasts forever?
CLEARLY, something completely not charging, or losing charge very quickly, should be investigated. Hardware? Or settings?
My two cents…
P.S., I’ve noticed that the solar FILM on the top of the S330’s is deteriorating (peeling off). I tried to purchase external solar panels, but Eufy wants WAY TOO MUCH. In fact, they should be offered FREE to those with defective equipment. Especially to those who have stood by as devoted customers.
In the meantime, I no longer buy ANYTHING from Eufy, nor take their STUPID surveys, until something is done.

Mine looses charge quite quickly inspite of being placed at a point of maximum exposure. The charge does not vary much. I know The weather does not help but have noticed this even while it was bright outside

I have the problem, my solar panel not charging.

Our garage camera, soaking up the SoCal sun on its solar panel, turned itself off due to dead battery. Can’t get service until 01/10/25
