Alright Folks! It’s Maintenance Friday for my Eufy E28!!!
This is your friendly reminder to check them filters!!! Wow look at that gunk!
So I like to keep an eye out for reductions in performance of my E28 vac… these are often tell-tail signs that you need to perform maintenance. I have two dog and the built in counters/timers just don’t cut keeping track of when maintenance needs to be performed.
Example is here - if I followed my generic timer in app - I have another 40% before the filter should be changed/cleaned out… but I was able to monitor cleaning performance… and when I noticed some areas just not picking up dirt like it should - BAM, it is maintenance time!
Sooo - what all do you do to keep an eye on maintenance? Do you ignore the timers like me and go on performance? Or are you like some users that say…What maintenance? Give me your thoughts!
Get out there and clean your cleaner!!! Lol

Absolutely agree with you that robot vacuum users should be cautious about those time intervals. Factors like size of the house, pets, kids, urban vs rural areas make a big impact on how quickly the filters will get clogged up. I think Eufy has set the intervals long to make their vacuums appear to be more maintenance free. The problem with that approach is that filters can get clogged up leading to poor performance and overheating of the motor.
I bought the E20 3-in-1 (brilliant idea) and noticed after a month or two of use that the vacuum wasn’t effective in the handheld mode. It is supposed to be capable of 4x the KPa in that mode so the lack of suction was quite noticeable. After a few minutes the handheld unit became very hot and the built-in thermal safety switched it off. Eufy-chat didn’t pinpoint the problem, which is surprising to me. Since there is no printed user manual included in the box, people are expected to navigate the app to solve problems. Older people aren’t always good at that. The app should have a clear “Trouble shooting” button or tab on the first screen so you don’t need to dig for it. Taking apart the handheld to find the hidden filters isn’t difficult, but it isn’t intuitive either. Eufy has good instructions for this, but you need to navigate the app to find them. Time to go back to a printed manual imho.

So, after writing all of the above, I went back to the app and looked at it again. Actually it is pretty easy to find the manual and go from there. 
However, it would probably save Eufy time and money to put a sticker on the unit that says, “Poor performance or overheating? Clean your internal filters”. If the filter isn’t visible, you might not know it’s there. The 3-in-1 has a visible canister which can mislead one into thinking all is good because the canister is empty.

Ya, totally get where you are coming from - and I agree. One maintenance cycle doesnt always work for another user’s cycle. I think it is out of good form to inspect your filters at least weekly to look for them to be cleaned out. Users with little to no dirt or debris - like with no kids or pets - can get away with much longer. But to be frank, that cant cut it here.

I started cleaning my filter weekly. I have A black lab so Miss Eufy works very hard at my house. I also Have long hair which is tough on any vacuum so I clean The brush weekly as well. I then Noticed the mopping isn’t on point so I thought let me take those ‘self cleaning’ mop pads off and wash myself …ohh my are they full of dirt! Now I have Extra mop pads and throw in the washer.

I find it odd that it tells you when to maintenance every part except when to empty the bag. Idk when it’s full…I found Out when I saw a trail of hair coming out of eufy. The bag was so full but eufy was still trying to empty
