Hi I wish Eufy

Hi! I wish Eufy could produce a wireless extender. Cameras at the back of my house drop out from time to time, appears to be signal related

Don’t want a second Homebase 3, is there anyway to boost signal distance? Plug in extender? Sure simple to produce? As Homebase 3 already as close to central for house as is possible
Bought one Pro S3 signal doesn’t appear stronger?!?

Thanks
Phil

Just get a WiFi extender/booster as long as it is OK to have a separate WiFi SSID to connect to. You may want yo verify this with Eufy support beforehand, but U am pretty sure this should work.

I agree get a wifi extender and link the solocam to it. I bought a cheap extender for the same purpose with my outside cameras

Hi, we do have the plan for the WIFI extender, can both extend the signal of the router and homebase, once it’s released, we will let our eufy fans know.

I use a netgear extender and it works planning on buying a extender tower. Pretty cheap on Amazon. Make sure it’s dual band. For 2.4ghz

Hi
Thank you for the responses.
To clarify, standard Wifi all over fine, have several repeaters/boosters etc that’s not the issues, the Cameras have weak signal to HomeBase 3 so need specific booster for HomeBase 3 connection

Thanks
Phil

Yes understood, my previous reply is to your demand.

You can’t use a Wi-Fi extender / repeater between the HomeBase and camera link.
The HomeBases Wi-Fi is hidden so the extender / repeater will not be able to connect to it.
You’ll have to wait for the official eufy extender that @Kangchao mentioned about.

Though, this is the only camera I know of that can connect to your home’s Wi-Fi and or repeaters and relay its info to your HomeBase3.

Yes, me too. Or build extender capabilities into a camera line so that one cam can boost signal to the next and so on.

Thanks this is the conclusion I reached that need dedicated extender or more ideally allow signal to go through existing WiFi and existing extenders so not adding more and more boxes etc

Thanks
Phil

I solved it with multiple homebase2 around the house. Not going to buy 3 homebase3 to do same. Although, the new AI features and storage expansion might be nice.

I’m thrilled to learn about the plans for extenders. I need to cover a large property (with stone facade and interior walls), but I also need to extend outdoor coverage in several directions which would require some sort of outdoor solar extender/booster/home base or a line of cameras that are solar powered and auto mesh or create their own extended network. So glad to learn you have something in the works. Please keep us informed.

I wondered if adding a homebase 2 would help. I thought about doing the same thing with multiple HBs, but I also need to extend further outdoors. Also, how far does the HB2 signal extend vs HB3. I thought I read that HB 3 extends further. I wish I had known about the plug in cams – I wonder if they can extend signal to other cam models further outside? Anyhow, thanks for your HB suggestion…

HB2 max is about 20 ft through a wall. I have one at the back of the house. It’s about 35 feet and two walls from doorbell and I can’t connect doorbell to it. I have #2 in the front of the house and can’t connect rear cameras (35Ft + 2 walls) to it. The third is upstairs on west side and it records for two cameras on that side of the house. Haven’t done any distance testing with #3.

Thanks for that info. Definitely helps as I try to figure out how to work around multiple limitations. For what it’s worth, I think my hb3 does have a longer range than 20 ft. In fact, I’m surprised by the range in some directions. Think I might need to add another 1 or 2 HB(s) to cover the other directions and parts of the property… Thanks again for confirming about the hb2.
