Hello, I recently upgraded from HomeBase 2 to HomeBase 3 after getting a new camera that wasn’t supported by HomeBase 2. The transition went smoothly; however, I have a question.
Is it possible to use HomeBase 2 as a doorbell repeater for HomeBase 3? My doorbell camera is now connected to HomeBase 3.
The only issue you’ll run into with situations like that is you won’t be able to link it to your Automated features. With hb3… bit as a doorbell it should catch anything it approaches, so you don’t really need to Automated it…
However it would be nice though… I’d just by a chime and leave it connected to you hb3…
Okay ya… I paired my doorbell to h 2 just like you would anything else. Given you have to have the hb3 paired to the app prior to pairing the doorbell to it…
Then when pairing the doorbell, you have to have it right next to the hb… it puts out an odd sound the doorbell picks up then pairs… Seems a little weird to me m, but it works…
I have nine connected to the hb2 so I wouldn’t be able to tell how to do on hb3…
But aside from it not working from AI, it works well as a chime… I don’t think you’d even be able to get AI if you had it connected to HB3 though ether…
So ya, the hb2 serves its purpose as a chime… now pairing thee hb2…
Initially it has to be paired via ethernet… after connecting, you can then use it with wifi and place it anywhere in the house…
