Homebase S380 Wi-Fi questions

Does the Homebase S380 need a hard wired LAN connection after setup? When i set it up, it was connected hard wired to my Wi-Fi router, but my phone Wi-Fi is connected to our guest network to isolate all IoT devices.

Is the Homebase using the LAN port to push out the Guest Wi-Fi to the cameras? Can I unplug the Homebase from the router and move it closer to the cameras so they get better signal as long as the Homebase has a good Wi-Fi connection?

I am monitoring this to wait for an answer to the same question.

I asked on the eufy Facebook forum, but have not gotten an answer in two days now.

During the setup process, HomeBase must connect to a router via an Ethernet LAN cable. After setup, HomeBase can be switched to a Wi-Fi connection, (your phone needs to be on the same Wi-Fi that you want the HomeBase to use), then after that you can switch your phone back to what it was on.
Unplug power to HomeBase and LAN connection and relocated where it still has a good Wi-Fi signal.

Don’t know about the Wi-Fi the HB3 puts out, I thought it created its own hidden network to communicate with the cameras but, reading this it would appear that it is extending your home’s Network.

I suppose you would need to contact eufy for that answer.

The Homebase 3 does not support a wifi connection to your network, it only has a lan connection type

Supposably there was a software update pushed out for the HB3 where now it can connect via Wi-Fi…
Has anyone received it yet?

I just checked and a firmware update was available. I installed it and now I do get the option for Wifi like I did with the old homebase. Thank you.
