I have captured a human trying my car door on a few occasions. For some reason my cameras only capture him as he tries the door and move away. Never walking up to the car where I hope to capture his face.
Any advice where I can capture him walking up to the car door

How high is your detection sensitivity in the motion detection settings? Have it all the way up at 7 high?
Do you have detection type turned on for all other motions to increase likelihood of triggering prior to human detecfion/recognition?
Thanks Steven, motion on both is set to 7.
only thing I changed after your suggestion is “Other Motions”
I’ll see how that works.
You can define zones in the Eufy app that will capture all motion with in the camera’s view.
Search "defining zones on Eufy camera app. "
Thanks for your response. I had zones setup on each cam.
I have removed the zones to go back to basics to see if that improves the issue.
I had a lot more animal capture than normal so that may be the issue.
I’m going to test the system today.
It appears from the time a person leaves the sidewalk to the the car door the camera doesn’t have enough time to start recording, not sure I can fix that.
I may switch the cameras around putting the newer version on the left
Insane
I have sometimes have the same issue with the delay in footage recording and actual event! So you can miss some important footage caused by the lagg. I have other CCTV which may pick up on the missing footage!
Is that a car on the right, that they are going to? If so, perhaps a number plate may help. Even if it’s a stolen number plate, once they find out who is doing that, the police might be able to help you.
I find some of my clips (not all) capture a lot more if I have stop recording when motion ends turned off. I usually keep them set to custom recording 120 seconds under power manager. I’m not suggesting this as a sure fix, in fact I haven’t many of those two minute events until recently. Definitely consider a P&T camera. With a P&T if you enable sound detection, it may have picked him up before he got that close.

I’ll certainly try your suggestions. I have battery power but only turn on recording later at night so power loss shouldn’t be an issue. Thanks!
