This is my driveway. My S340 does a good job of capturing vehicles that are leaving, heading away from the camera. But cars coming up the driveway, towards the camera are hardly ever captured. I’ve done my best to optimize the zones and sensitivity but it’s still not quite right. I know that capturing action from this angle can be asking a lot for this camera, but just wondering if anyone in the community might jave some other tips.
Thanks all!
Eufy mentions to install the camera on an angle from the area you want to cover. Anything “head-on” usually doesn’t get capture unless it “crosses” the frame
And that is the very issue. I do accept that I may be pushing the boundaries of this camera’s design specs, but it seems like it should be capable in this scenario. There is movement in the activity zone for substantial time. I’ve adjusted the home position of the camera and the activity zone here and there as much as I am able, and still working on it.
Thanks for the reply.
Good luck with that! A tank could pull into my drive and it would not be detected
Ha! Well, actually, every once in a while it will catch an incoming car, but it’s rare… and it has to be moving pretty slowly.
I don’t have that camera but I was wondering if you have it set for all movement.
No, and thats a good point, but it is set for vehicle detection. I found that if I set it for all motion, that everything from birds to shadows would set it off.
But, I may revisit some of these settings now that you’ve reminded me. Thanks!
I think that one of the wired cameras might work better in this case (or a plugged in E30, E42, S4). The issue that you mention is a fundamental limitation of the PIR motion sensors that battery cams use to conserve energy.
