I have not been able to get my AI recognition to work. It will only pick up humans sometimes, no animals (large dogs) or anything else the AI recognition feature offers. Can somebody give me tips on the AI recognition. Do I need a homebase for it to work properly?

I think homebase improves AI a lot. But even with that it quite often gives wrong results. My kids are always mistaken for each other 
If it’s AI recognition and marking familiar people, then this feature can only be used with the HomeBase

Try adjusting the sensitivity on the recognition in your settings 
If you make it greater it will pick up and be more sensitive to what it’s labeled to pick up. They also have a small heat seeking signature in them if your camera is behind glass or plastic something like that it will block that feature from working not saying that that’s what it is but that is a problem with the cameras.
Not all cameras are compatible with the AI feature on the HB and even some gen3 models dint work with it…
WhY kind of camera are you talking about… what model…?
