I have the e30 cam in my backyard. It’s positioned where it is because this will give it the best version of the whole yard since my house is shaped kinda funny in the back.
The issue is where my back door is (the arrow). I’ve gotten up there in the DAY and NIGHT and am clearly visible to the camera, but it doesn’t register me as human or just plain movement in general (I’ve even done jumping-jacks).
My activity zone is set to that area, sensitivity all the way up and I’ve tried human AND all motion. It just won’t register the movement. Please help.
Do you need the activity Zone? I mean is it necessary, does the bush / shrubbery set the camera off?
For a test, delete both activity zones then go out there and see if the camera detects you.
I just got one to cover the back door. That’s a whole other thing in itself. It waits forever to actually send the notification and sometimes doesn’t even catch an event
Yeah, the bushes were setting it off so I tried to eliminate that issue, but even with the activity zones off they won’t pick me up if I’m standing at the door. Behind the bush you can see my torso up in the camera, but it won’t register as human motion or Motion in general
Hmmm… Unfortunately camera isn’t able to see enough, of what’s behind the bush to determine movement or if a human is present.
You might want to try to shrink the diameter of the bush, trim it to a smaller rounder shape, if that’s doable?
@ogr10 oh come on, it’s not that funny
I’ve trimmed this tree back a bit so my doorbell cam has a better view towards the side and also on windy days it sets off the motion.
I have this problem, too, when the motion is in the middle to distant area of view. Or when movement gets further and further away: there is clearly still motion, but recording stops. I think sensitivity/accuracy/detection declines outside of a certain, limited range.
One thing I’d suggest trying: toggle all motion events on. Maybe even try just “all motion”…
Also: I wonder if removing your 2 detection aress altogether (and leaving sensitivity on max) would make a difference?
Could you mount it on the corner of shed and still get adequate coverage of the area? (Understand ing that maybe you want the view of the area around the shed as it is now…)
