I was threatene

I was threatened while standing in my own driveway after I kindly asked a random person not to block my driveway in the future. Car was a Silver Chevy Truck (Silverado I think) with license plate 12844A3

You were lucky they didn’t have a gun.

As a law enforcement officer, I always recommend that people do not run up to occupied vehicles this way. You are very lucky they did not have weapons. People are dying for reasons to get aggressive, NEVER give them a reason, especially for something as simple as someone loading their truck or doing a 3-point turn. If he was at your garage, you have purpose to get aggressive (still not a good idea) but when you run up to someone’s private vehicle on a public street, things can get dangerous. I’m glad you were not hurt. Or run over, oh my…

I understand he was wrong in way of his aggressive response; however, if he was blocking your driveway for a moment to make life a little easier grabbing some items to load; what is the issue? If you were trying to pull in or leave urgently that was time-sensitive, I could see this being an issue. So, were you trying to pull in or leave? Does this random person pull up and do this regularly? If not, and appears to be a one-time thing, again, why bother? You have to ask yourself, is this life-changing? Had you been out back mowing your lawn you would’ve never noticed that not-so-life-changing event. I don’t agree with how he handles this; as I find him to be emotionally immature. However, you don’t need to make something out of nothing.

That’s because cops are taught to believe that everyone is a threat. That is why cops have this “Us vs Them” mentality and continue to keep this country divided! There is absolutely nothing wrong with approaching people and having a civil discussion. I too have spent my entire life working alongside law enforcement and have never had to worry about someone pulling a weapon and using it. And in my profession, I deal with the very worst of society. If you are afraid of everyone, then choose a different career!
