Hi,
I decided to replace my Google Battery Doorbell, which I had powered using a VEMER VN319000 transformer through a Honeywell D117 ding-dong chime. Unfortunately, with the E340, the indoor chime does not trigger when I press the button. I also noticed that the battery in the E340 is draining rather than charging, even though it shows a green plug indicating that it is connected to power.
If my current chime is not supported, then which analogue/mechanical doorbell should I buy?
Hi, what output terminals on the transformer are you using?
Itās suggested to use wired to existing doorbell wiring (16-24V AC, 30VA recommended).
Though I donāt know if that would damage your doorbell chime, the higher voltage..
Check compatibility of the transformer
7 and 12, it is working well with Google doorbell. Chime also working fine.

Is the chime making any noise or buzzing when you press the doorbell button?
When you installed / setup the doorbell did you select mechanical chime?
No, it doesnāt make any noise and yes Iāve selected mechanical chime. I can short-circuit both wires while connected to the e340 doorbell and it is ringing so it is not underpowered. Problem is with e340 not doing this properly. Iāve asked Eufy support but got a joke response: āā¦Regarding your inquiry, the Eufy Security Video Doorbell E340 may not be compatible with all chime systems. To ensure compatibility, itās recommended to use a chime that is specifically designed to work with the Eufy doorbell. Unfortunately, I donāt have a specific model to recommend, but you might want to consider checking the Eufy website or contacting their support for a list of compatible chimesā¦ā I bet they have never tested this properly and it may or may not work.
Iāve replaced this transformer with my old laptop PSU and 19V, 3.42A DC did the trick.
The power supply for the doorbell it needs to be alternating current (AC) not direct current (DC).
You may be damaging the doorbell and the battery probably isnāt charging.
It has bridge rectifier (same as Google and other brands) converting AC to DC regardless, so it is even better. It does charge battery.
All right then.![]()
