Just purchased from Eufy direct - s330 wired doorbell & homebase 3 combo - video storage?

Update: The concerns I expressed below were resolved with Eufy’s help. Thank you for your replies and for Eufy’s assistance. I left an update in a new post later in this thread.

Just a few days ago I purchased, direct from Eufy, a Eufy S330 dual cam wired video doorbell and homebase 3 combination. Seemed like a great buy at $220.

Now the more I read in preparation for the install it sounds like this specific Eufy doorbell has little or no integration with the homebase 3. First, if I read correctly this doorbell cannot store video on the homebase 3! Could this be correct? Eufy would sell these together as a bundle yet they are not integrated (at least as far as storage)?

Then I continue reading and it also seems the only chime that can be used is the plug-in chime that comes with the doorbell itself. Again, no integration with or ability to use the homebase as the chime?

I’m hoping I’m mistaken but it I’ve searched the internet, these community forums, product FAQs, etc and the more I read, the more it seems there is very little, if any integration between Eufy’s dual cam, wired S330 doorbell and it’s homebase 3? If so, I can’t beleive they’d be selling them directly as a bundle without clearly identifying these shortcomings! I’m also really baffled as to why the lack of integration given both products have been on the market for quite a while. And I can only assume this isn’t likely to change anytime soon?

I’m hoping I’m wrong but starting to think I am going to need to take advantage of Eufy’s returns policy to return this equipment unopened as soon as it arrives. Hoping someone can offer insight to the contrary! Thanks!

It looks like you’re right… from what I’ve read from the HB3 compatibility chart.

S330 Video Doorbell (Video Doorbell Dual)

T8203

HomeBase3 Storage Compatibility

Not Compatible**

HomeBase3 BionicMind™ /Modes/Automation Compatibility

Not Compatible**

** Device does not possess the necessary technology for HomeBase 3 compatibility.

I find it odd / strange they would sell this as a kit??

I hope someone from the eufy support team will read this and put clarity on this issue otherwise it is wrong of them to sell the product as a bundle.

Here is the ad for the “bundle” currently being sold on Eufy’s own website.

Shipping hasn’t gone well either. I placed the order 4 days ago on Wednesday, Dec 11 and only the Homebase itself has shipped first (separately). As for the Doorbell itself, after 4 days, there is still no status. I have no idea when it will ship. Glad this wasn’t a gift with no status available for that long only a week and a half from the christmas holiday. I understand that its a busy time for shipping but having absolutely no information on when I can expect it after this long? Also, when placing the order I noticed the website indicated they were using Amazon for their shipping which was reassuring, however that now appears to not be the case. It’s shipping direct via UPS

At this point it is Sunday so I am going to wait to call Eufy tomorrow (assuming I’ll get better assistance on a business day). I can only hope that I actually receive the products someday so that I can, I’m sure, pay plenty to ship them directly back due to their apparent complete lack of integration.

Nice

Good luck. I went through this & six months later still have not had a resolution.

I have the s330 (t8213) and it works flawlessly with hb3.

I looked at the item you purchased on the eufy website.
It’s a bit confusing, and also they have incorrect info. They talk about the HB2 for the Bell storage.
I viewed the HB3 and it says it works with all battery video doorbells except the E8213. They don’t mention anything about wired powered doorbells.

So does the S330 have a battery in it and the hard wire is just to maintain its charge?

Do you have the part number of the doorbell?

Rene, when you say, “it works flawlessly” can you elaborate on what type of integration seems to be working flawlessly between the S330 doorbell abd the Homebase 3? Its great to hear but is in sharp contrast to feedback I’m seeing in several places on the web including other posts in this community where frustrated owners are reporting no support? In fact, in Eufy’s compatibility table it clearlly states, “Device does not possess the necessary technology for HomeBase 3 compatibility.”

Also, here is the status right on the “S380 HomeBase (HomeBase 3) Compatibility” table (I’ve included the link to the table at the bottom:

Eufy HB3 3

Flawlessly means that you can store doorbell clips on the hb3 and use hb3 as a chime too. Eufy is pretty crap when it comes to their own product descriptions. Even for the s330 doorbell their site says that this model cannot be used as wired doorbell and then the faq section right underneath says that it can be used as a wired doorbell.

The problem is that there are two S330 versions…
A battery powered ( T8213 ) and a hard wired ( T8203 )

And on the store website they are combining both of them in the description, questions and answers FAQ.

As the original poster, I wanted to follow-up with an important update on all of this.

I managed to get through to someone at Eufy today. The woman I spoke with was both knowledgeable and extremely helpful.

First, she was able to determine that the bundle actually included the combo battery/wired version (8213) of the S330 doorbell that she was able to confirm would work with the Homebase 3.

We then moved on to the lack of any shipping status on the doorbell component of the bundle (the Homebase 3 had shipped by itself middle of last week). She was able to determine that the doorbell was on back order and I wasn’t likely to see it until sometime in early January. She did some further checking and offered to allow me to cancel just the doorbell portion of the bundle allowing me to order the newer e340 which is integrated with the Homebase 3. I’ve also done some recent reading about the e340 and liked some of the additional features it offers. So she proceeded to cancel the s330 and I ordered the e340. WIth current discounts the new package (e340 and HB3) would actually cost $10 less than my original purchase.

Thank you all for your replies and help with this.

That’s great :+1:t2:, and thanks for letting us know that info.

These type of problems are typical of Eufy. I bought 4 cams and a base unit. Sometimes it records nothing but often it misses events all together. They obviously have software/AI issues. They will only support the product within warranty period, after that you are SOL. My system is 29 months old and is basically junk.
Cut your losses now and move to a better system.
