Major Problems with Eufy App Version 5.0

My Android just got updated to the latest Eufy app (version 5.0.31_6710) and I’m having LOTS of problems!

  • cameras set to privacy mode, and cannot get it out of this mode
  • the app doesn’t indicate that a camera is in privacy mode
  • night vision no longer works for many of my cameras
  • lost connectivity to many of my cameras

Is anybody else having these problems?

I have over a dozen cameras at a remote home, and this is a disaster. What happened? Was this new version shipped before it was tested? Any timeframe on fixes?

Any way of going back to the previous version I had?

Welcome to the party! Issue everywhere

Yep. Also having various issues lately

I went back to the old version, and everything is working perfectly!!!

ive had the same issue I reset all my cameras and added them to the Homebase I know it’s a pain but my system seems to be working fine again

I was wondering if connecting them to Homebase would help with this new version. But yeah, that would take a while to set up my cameras for that, and I like how the pictures and videos get distributed to each camera via Wi-Fi. My Homebase doesn’t have enough space to centralize everything – I just use it for my outdoor cameras.

Mine isn’t

I’ve seen similar issues after app updates where settings, camera modes, or connectivity can break unexpectedly. It may help to restart the cameras, reinstall the app, and check if the firmware also needs an update. If you are looking for an alternative app setup or related installation information, I came across inatbox ipa which might be worth checking. Hopefully Eufy releases a fix soon for these update-related problems.

The latest Eufy app update on Android, version 5.0.31_6710, may cause various problems such as cameras going offline, live view not working properly, delayed notifications, privacy mode issues, or devices not appearing correctly. If you are experiencing these issues, try restarting the app and your devices, checking your internet connection, and making sure the Eufy app has all required permissions. If the problems started immediately after the update, checking for a newer app version or contacting Eufy Support may also help. For mor help Go to https://ballsurfer.io/

Since all of these problems started right after the app update, I would troubleshoot the app first before resetting or removing any cameras.

On Android, try force-closing the Eufy app, clearing the app cache, restarting your phone, and then opening the app again.

For cameras stuck in Privacy Mode, open the camera settings and check Privacy Mode/Privacy Shutter and try disabling it from there.

For night vision, check each affected camera under Camera Settings > Video Settings and make sure Auto Night Vision is still enabled.

Since you have more than a dozen cameras at a remote property, I would NOT delete or unpair them unless Eufy Support specifically recommends it. If several different cameras developed these problems immediately after the same update, I would also report the exact app version and affected camera models to Eufy Support.

Hope this helps! If you find which step fixes it, please update us so it can help others experiencing the same problem. :+1:

I ended up sticking with version v4.9.3_4379 on my older Galaxy A12 Android phone. I have since gotten a new Galaxy Android phone and did not install Eufy on that. I just use my older one to monitor my place. I just don’t want to go through the headache of getting everything working with v5 (especially after that initial v5 upgrade disaster).

I went back to the old version, and everything is working perfectly again! The new version was giving me a few issues, but switching back solved the problem right away. Now everything feels smooth, stable, and much easier to use. check for more https://motox3mpoolparty.io/.

It is completely unacceptable that a major software rollout like version 5.0 was pushed live with such severe, widespread bugs that lock users out of their own security systems and break basic features like night vision and remote connectivity. Managing a remote property with over a dozen blind cameras leaves homeowners entirely vulnerable, making it imperative that Eufy immediately expedites an emergency hotfix patch or provides a safe, seamless downgrade path for affected Android users.
