Motion detection stopped working after latest firmware update

I will certainly be watching this thread. I suspect another fly-by-night tech product that is only around for a few years… I just purchased the eufyCam2 pro kit but have yet to fully install it. I already experienced trouble just trying to create an account with two modern iOS devices (iPad ios14.8.1 and iPhone ios15.1). Verifying my account setup took me to a page that crashes my browsers. It took (email) support 3 days to get back to me - suggesting I should try another device, or switch networks. This, just to get the app running… are you kidding me? Then I stumble upon this thread. Talk about alarm bells ringing! It seems my immediate suspicion of both Eufy’s software and respect for their customers was right. Then I find out on this forum that these cameras won’t allow night vision human detection? So cars going by every 5 seconds will be lighting up my phone? Can anyone suggest a reason why I shouldn’t be taking these right back for a refund?

Been running two eufycam 2 pro cameras for about a year and they’ve been really good untill now, and human motion detection also worked flawlessly day and night until early last month when they released 4.6.4 and 100% broke human detection altogether and it’s taking them a ridiculous ammount of time to fix it.

Seems the unreleased 4.6.6 is an improvement reading the comment above but I’m still trying to get eufy to push that firmware to my cameras. The cameras are great overall but these forced automatic firmware updates that completely break the main feature of a security camera is bloody ridiculous. These need to be user updateable and even have the ability for the user to downgrade in the event of crap like this happening.

Afaik no IR-cam is able to provide human detection at night as resolution of the sensors are too low

I have been using Eufy cam 2C pro for last couple of months and its been working great (Till this morning).
I have three zones set up and Human only detection on. Since this morning, my front door 2C pro has been detecting every single car passing on the street (of course I haven’t set up any zone there) and sending me the notification. Its draining battery like crazy. I have deleted all the zones and redrew them, tried different sensitivities, turned of the motion completely for few minutes and then turned it back on - nothing fixes the problem.
Eufy please do something about this and save my trip to the store to return the cameras. Thanks

Since the update to the system my ‘Motion Detection’ for ‘Human Only’ is now picking up everything moving within view even though I also have a ‘Activity Zone’ set, and cars aren’t coming into it, but they are getting picked up and alerts are being sent out.
Is anyone else having these types of issues with their camera since the Device Updated?

With my cameras I have the opposite issue, the cameras do not detect humans anymore on the AI Human only setting. Its a real problem.

Have also big problems wih my two cameras

Whether or not i get a notification or video clip. The hole sitem is now unreiiable.

**ok, after the recent firmware update my 3-camera system is no longer sending notifications nor recording video clips. I’ve tried everything including reinstalling all to no effect. I do get live video on all cameras but no use just having this. I’ve reported this to support@eufylife.com with no reply yet. If this is indeed a firmware issue then they need to acknowledge it and provide a fix soonest s as without this functionality the system is pretty useless. **

After contacting Eufy support they pushed 5.4.5 to my cams (2c and 2c pro). And… I got human motion detection. Now running for the second day and it is recording. Also the dog is identified as person… ke? Playing with the sensitivity now.

Yesterday afternoon the system froze, no detections. But for now I’m not sure if the problem is / was in my network or with the Eufy products. For now I blame my network.

Uptill now, I’ve got person detections with firmware 5.4.5

Eufy finally pushed pushed 4.6.6 to my 2x eufy 2 pros and human motion detection is now working flawlessly on both cameras again. Picked up a few people now and it’s notified me immediately and recording them again.

So if anyone is still having issues email eufy support with you cameras serial number and hopefully within 48hrs they’ll push the update though.

Regret to say my new Eufy C2 pro Kit ( 2 weeks) is suffering the same issue as many others seem to be encountering with no detection etc.
As we use this to monitor our pool for entering unanounced young children I would be grateful to receive any and all updates.

Yup, my battery doorbell stopped notifying me of anything, including doorbell presses … I have notifications on and everything, but suddenly haven’t received a damn thing.

Well not much to say, same problems here. Bloody annoying!

Richard please test them at night while leaving them on Human Only, since at night they are supposed to switch to All motion automatically. See if they pick up cars.

After contacting Eufy support they pushed 4.6.6 to my 4 cam2pros. I never had issue with human only in the morning, only at night not recording cars hence not switching to All motion. I shall see how mine behaves tonight.

All four cams above A,b c and D were recently purchased in past two weeks. They are all causing night time ALL MOTION issue.
Problem: these four new cams on firmware 4.5.8 are on Human Only motion mode. They record humans just fine during the DAY and NIGHT. But these four camera won’t switch to ALL MOTION at night so none of the objects such as cars are being recorded or alerted.

I have been reading the forums and it seems there are bunch of people dealing with this issue. I spoke with a representative over the phone he suggested that I forward the above info and have the devs push a beta firmware for the four cameras on firmware 4.5.8

Also these 4 cameras do not switch to night vision on and off feature during live stream, one has to quit live stream, comeback and see the color stream. Older cameras this works just fine.

Camera x and y also have the new privacy zones feature and the new cameras a,b,c and d don’t.

Please push the beta firmware that has a working ALL MOTION at night time a critical camera featue.

Just tested it and it picks up a human only even at night, never picks up vehicles or any other items or animals. When I have the camera set to human detection it never switches over to all motion even at night which is fine with me as I would have constant notifications.

Where I am in the UK it’s not 100% pitch black out but still very dark to the point where I can barley make anything out if night vision is off, but if only a person does pass the night vision kicks in and records as usual.

Before the unreleased 4.6.6 got pushed I had absolutely zero notification or recordings for about 3 weeks on 4.6.4 but everything so far is still working ok day and night like it used to, humans only are being detected extremely quickly and notifications sent instantly.

Eufy really needs to push this firmware out ASAP.

When I originally spoke to Eufy on live chat the moment I mentioned no human detection they instantly mentioned we have a firmware that may fix do you want to try it so they knew they broke it and were working on an update. What annoys me is the kept it very quiet or didn’t even mention it as an announcement here saying sorry we broke human detection but a fix is in the works.

Well thats very strange , i am still on 3.8.4 and it was all fine until they pushed the update to the homebase2 to 2.1.8.5h, Since then all of 2x 2Pro and 1x Battery Door bell started to have problem of no motion in the night.

But looks like i may have to request 4.6.6
