I own five E42 cameras connected to a HomeBase S380. All of them exhibit the same unwanted and abnormal behavior.
First, I enable the lighting function. I am also not entirely sure what the purpose of the toggle shown in this section is, other than opening the lighting settings menu:
I then select the option that enables the light when motion is detected:
From that point onward, the camera lights switch on randomly and unexpectedly, sometimes only a few minutes apart. These activations usually last for a few seconds.
However, no detection event is recorded when this happens. I have also checked the surroundings at the exact time of these activations, and there is genuinely no movement or activity outside.
The cameras are configured to detect human beings and human presence only. Their sensitivity is set to level 2. They are also continuously powered via USB.
At night, my house therefore looks like a flashing Christmas tree. This may sound amusing, but the situation is actually very disruptive, especially during the summer when the windows are open.
As a result, I am forced to disable the camera lights completely. Under these conditions, their effectiveness becomes very limited at night, even though the lighting feature is specifically intended to improve nighttime surveillance.
Please let me know how I can stop these abnormal and unwanted light activations on all of my E42 cameras.
