Ringtones are different at doorbell and Alexa

I have connected my doorbell to Alexa. Should my chosen ringtone sound at the doorbell or only on the Alexa? Bell sounds a chime and Alexa
plays a tune. Also, I can only hear notifications on 1 Alexa device. Any advice appreciated.
