I took out the 128gb cards out of my E30 solocams and got the s380 homebase. After setting it up i then added a Samsung 1tb ssd. I now have about 52 videos anywhere from 10 to 60 seconds of time. So far I am not seeing any space useage on the drive. Will it take more videos before I see any useage?

Update: According to Eufy Tech Support the Homebase 3 storage indicator “rounds up”. So when the expanded 1 TB harddrive has 99.1% of it’s space available, the Eufy Homebase3 hard-drive “space available” storage indicator “rounds up” and displays that 100% of the hard-drive space is available.
Tech support says in reality the hard-drive can have hundreds of recorded videos stored on the hard-drive but the indicator will remain at 100% “space available” until the space is less than 99.1%. They say the recordings are so small that 0.9% of the hard-drive space can store hundreds of recorded videos.
In that case, it could be years before the Homebase3 storage indicator shows that any recording are stored on the hard-drive.
At least that’s Eufy Tech’s supports story…
Thanks for reply. I am so used to always freeing up space that I won’t have to worry about the 1tb drive.
It should show a little usage, I mean it’ll show maybe 99 to 100 percent storage available, but just from the format, and loading the sata disk, it should show that it took up somthing …
OK with now, with that being said, Eufy claims you can continually record for about five months before clearing so if you just just have it on events for 40=60 seconds it should last year’s before havi.g to clear it.
Have you formated the disk… if you tap the HB it shows the storage. Space just as you ha e it posted…

I finally see a very thin green line on usage. I am used to the dash cam in my car that records in 3 minute segments on a 128gb max sd card so after a few trips I have hundreds of videos I have to delete. Kinda looks like i can wait months before looking at used space on the Homebase3. Thanks all.

New customer to this system
I’ve only had a few hits and it was deliveries and my son coming over but it’s nice to be able to see what’s going on out front. I especially like the ability to use the speaker if I see something that makes me uncomfortable.
How long did it take to fill the 128gb cards? And how many times does 128gb go into 1terabyte? I imagine it will take awhile. But unless you are using cloud backup, if you can see the videos, then they are on your hb
Never had the 128gb cards in my E30 cameras that long. The Eufy web page estimated that at 2k resolution you could record about 10 days per camera? Of course there are many factors, resolution, recording length and if your recording every movement.
Say now that you have all that storage, you can add them in to your security automation , an extra feature that the hb3 adds…
So… Now that you have your homebase set up… You cam turn on your security feature to activate other triggers
… lf one of your cameras are triggered, you can set it up so other nearby cameras will start to record or what ever action you choose… pan an tilts can be programed to turn a certain position…
Cam record, sound the alarm or all the alarm around your house at once if you wanted… Say like some broke into your house or garage while you were gone…

The triger… that’ll be your featured camera…
Action… thise are your other cams you want to turn on and what you want them to do…
I have the ones I’m my back yard to just trigger my HB while at home so I don’t wake the neighbors if I get a false detection, which hardly happens unless I’m taking out the trash or somthing…
Oh ya you can apply18 different triggers/ cams, sensors or what have you… and you can turn them on or off at a touch of the screen… pick and choose you know… home away, or whatever…
