Homebase 3 storage expansion questions

Hi,
I just installed my new E330 security kit and have been reading about the storage expansion. Got a few questions.

  1. Eufy online says we can add a 2.5in drive up to 16TB. However, the S380 PDF file I downloaded says the drive capacity is unlimited (pg 02). What is it?

  2. Since it’s a 24/7 application, I want to use a NAS-rated drive. However, I cannot find anything in the 2.5in size. It seems the Eufy’s engineers goofed up on this one, since all NAS-rated drives are 3.5in. If the Homebase was just a little bit bigger, it would fit a bigger drive easily. My NAS uses the WD Red Pro HDDs. However, I cannot find anything even close in terms of reliability. Furthermore, cannot find any disk bigger than 5TB let alone how reliable it is to let is spin 24/7. So, the question is, which brand and size are you all using?

Advices highly appreciated. Thanks!

Currently using a 1TB 2.5” SSD. Don’t need anything larger for my current needs.

Thanks! How long have you been using it?

I ordered a WD 2TB HDD. Ended up deciding for the platters because I read SSDs tend to wear out faster than HDDs in heavy read/write conditions.

Right now I only have two cameras but might add a few more if this setup works as expected.

Not long but MTBF for SSDs is very good these days. In this use case I’m more concerned with performance than retention. But you can always subscribe to the Eufy cloud if you want backup. And their is local archive capability as well.
