I have SoloCam S340 which i bought three months ago, and at the beginning everything was working fine, but I noticed the battery start dying quickly, so I unplugged the camera from the solar panel and I plugged it directly to DC and let it charge (though it says on the manual it takes 8 hrs for the battery to fully charge) it took two days to fully charge!!
However, since I have two of these cameras in my house, I thought of comparing the performance/activity of these two, the other camera (good camera) during day time it switched between solar panel and the DC while working, whereas, this camera (the defected one) it doesn’t ! So, I am not sure if this is related to firmware issue, factory reset, battery or solar panel.
** Photos below.
Good Camera !
I’m thinking there may be something wrong with the charging circuitry or the battery internal resistance is too high… for it to take 2 days to charge via DC USB charger??
You can check if the firmware are the same for both cameras, Settings _ General _ About Device.
If it still has issues.
Consider starting a warranty on it, which you can do within the app.
To be honest, I don’t know what is the problem. As I said earlier, I have two not just one! one fixed in my house and the other is fixed in my barn (the one with issues). Both places have internet and full sun… I am just lost.
I herewith attaching the version of both cameras, the Good one and the One with issues; so all of those whom are having issues with these cameras can see what other are sufferin of.
Warrany is not applicable here, because I bought these cameras through seller here in Dubai who said the main seller in China won’t be responsible if it’s more than 21 days of purshase!
Hi,
The two pictures you provided is only one of the cameras you have, it is showing the same serial number where second camera will have a different serial number.
You can also test to see if the solar panel is working properly.
Disconnect the solar panels and switch them over between the two cameras, if you have the panels mounted outside then you can just switch/swap the two camera position locations.
