This camera keeps saying human detected? There’s nothing moving! Is it just the sunlight? We have four E330 cameras, and this is the only one that continues to do this. Thoughts?

Hello Friend, you can check this post to better optimize the Motion Detection settings to avoid unnecessary false alarms:
What’s the thumbnail that you see for the “human” I’m guessing one of those trees..
I have 9 of the E330 cameras and sometimes it picks up a shadow and says either human or pet funny thing is that the shadow does actually appear to have a human shape. Side note not sure if you know this but for some reason Eufy has discontinued the E330 so if we ever have to replace one I don’t know what we will have to get everything now is solar. There’s still some 2 & 4 camera kits available but no add on units
It’ll be the shadows the sunlight is creating, making your camera think a human is there ![]()
False alerts can be surprisingly sneaky. The trigger could be something as simple as a ray of sunlight or wind interacting with an object in view of the camera in a way that fools the AI logic. At my place, the shadow of a palm frond swaying on the ground when the sun is high will often trigger a “human detected” alert. So will shirts and trousers flapping on the clothesline (that one always makes me laugh).
Sometimes, it’s impossible to tell what exactly tricked the AI built into the camera or HomeBase. Fortunately, when you replay the recording, the app usually displays a small circular thumbnail beneath the clip showing the object that triggered the event. That’s your best clue as to what might need to be moved, shaded, or adjusted in the scene to reduce false detections.
If that doesn’t help, try repositioning the camera slightly. Even a small change in angle can make a big difference.
It also helps to submit the false alert clip to Eufy via the app. In theory, these submissions are used to help refine the AI detection logic over time — so the more examples users provide, the smarter the system should become.
