I have 3 x Wireless SoloCam S230(S40) and x 1 Indoor Cam E220, Pan & Tilt.
Overnight, 2 of the SoloCam S230(S40) performed an automatic update on the firmware. The 3rd camera was turned off so no update was performed. The 2 cameras that were turned on are now bricked.
Camera 1: SoloCam S230(S40) says it has version 1.1.6.2 installed. It is now unusable.
Camera 2: SoloCam S230(S40) is stuck trying to update from version 1.1.5.3 to 1.1.6.2 . I have a blue arrow in a spinning circle and it say “Camera is updating…”. This has been like this for hours.
Camera 3: SoloCam S230(S40) which I had turned off a few weeks ago is at version 1.1.5.2 and it works fine when I turn it on. I checked to see if it needs a firmware update and it says it has the latest version at 1.1.5.2 which is strange because the other 2 cameras are at 1.1.6.2 or trying to update to 1.1.6.2.
Camera 4: Indoor Cam E220 performed an update but it works fine. It went from version 2.1.5.1 to 2.1.8.7 with no issues.
I cant remove the bricked devices from the app, I cant restart them from the app, I cant turn them off from the app. I’ve tried completing the update manually but it fails 3-4 minutes into the update. I’ve tried all this from 2 different devices and the outcome is the same.
All thats left is to climb my ladder and take them down and do a hard reset but I dont know if the issue is on the app end or the camera end?
Anyone having similar issues or know a work around or solution? Any help would be much appreciated.
Yes I’m more or less in the same boat. I’ve two S40 cameras, and like you one has updated to the new firmware but now fails to provide ‘live feed’ and the other has failed to implement the firmware update with the message ‘Camera is updating…’ also with the blue arrow.
I guess I’ll have to get up the ladder and try resetting it.
I’m not hopeful though, having done a search on the internet it would appear that history of the ‘Camera is updating… ‘ issue has resulted in cameras being returned to eufy for replacement.
Here’s hoping someone at eufy issues some advice, and pulls the firmware if there’s a problem!
Woke up this morning to find that both cameras are up and running!
‘Live View’ is now working on the one camera and the other has installed the firmware. Haven’t hooked them up to the Homebase yet, I’ll try that later.
The exact same thing happened to me. The one camera just started working but is still on 1.1.6.2 and the update time stamp never changed. The other camera that was stuck updating finished updating after 27 hours and is now at 1.1.6.2 with a timestamp showing the 27 hour timeline. I dont know if it just finished after 27 hours or Eufy re-pushed out a repaired version of 1.1.6.2 but everything is working now.
Two of my three cameras (s40) have gone offline again. It has never happened before. Guess it’s the update. Eufy support just says I need to take them down and add/install again (like a robot answer ) No comments or dialog regarding the update and that it might be related to that
Two of the cameras are in another of my houses so I can’t restart them physically which means that the surveillance is not working they are just offline. Not really what to expect from a security camera (at least according to my standard)
