I’ve just ordered a Eufy outdoor camera as it looked great.
I have always viewed my cameras on my laptop. It looks like to view the camera in a web broswer you are mandated to open the smartphone app and get a code to put in to your web browser?
Is there a way to turn this off? if not I don’t think these are going to be fit for purpose for me. I don’t want ot have to go into lots of settings menus in a smartphone app just to access my camera on the web browser.
At least make security settings our choice. Can anyone confirm this is the case, if so I’ll send it back to Amazon and get something I can easily access from my laptop without faff.
I have to agree with you here, if viewing cameras on a laptop then have to get your phone to get a code iam just going to view the cameras on my phone doesn’t make sense. I came from an arlo system that turned into a junk problem infested system and it was the same way so happy I dumped that brand.
The whole thing is only geared up as a smartphone thing. The website has virtually no settings for the camera, so you’re really stuck looking at a very small smartphone screen if you buy this camera.
I agree the PIN requirement for live view via web portal needs to be dropped. Competitors like Arlo and Wyze have no such requirement. But at least it’s not required to view events. Eufy restored events viewing to the web portal after removing the feature for far too long, and it’s not without issues (thumbnails are blank, not actual camera images), but at least they continue to provide some support for web/PC viewing. A click or double-click expands the video to fullscreen.
