Web portal functionality - cannot view events

Why is the web portal so poor?

Two big limitations on web portal:

  1. Cannot view all/multiple camera feeds concurrently. We have them 6 out of 8 wired, so we want to view those 6 live feeds at once but the current functionality only allows 1 at a time.

  2. Cannot view events on the web portal:

“It’s unavailable to play the clips stored in HomeBase local storage by web portal because they have been advanced encrypted. It’s recommended you to play them in the app or subscribe to the cloud recording service.”

This leads to why it is required for them to be encrypted if they are on my local storage?

We have S330’s.

Anyone else encountered this? Will eufy please publish an update?

The web portal isn’t Eufy’s primary focus. It seems that most features are built around the mobile app, which is why limitations like single-camera viewing and no access to locally stored clips exist. The local recordings are encrypted for security and can only be decrypted in the app.

That said, Eufy is working on a new Smart Display (E10) that supports streaming multiple camera feeds at once. They showed it at the Eufy event in NYC a couple weeks ago and it may be a better fit if you’re looking for a multi-feed experience outside the app.

They also have the NVR solution which will support multifeed too.

I know none of these help your current situation though.

I can’t access the portal full stop I think I was after installing HB3 just saying timed out
as for the new nvr looks like $500 plus a year to use the more advanced features that we get on the WiFi cameras

I agree that there are enough limitations ,with the web portal, that it is effectively useless.

My biggest gripe is that it is escessively time consuming to look at older recordings because they can only be found and viewed with the mobile app.

What is the point of having terabyte drives in the HomeBase if it is so difficult to find and access older videos?

Encryption is not magic. It is math and programming. There should be no reason Eufy cannot include the feature in the portal. They already allow decryption of live stream, so why not recordings?

I think it is to sell more cloud subscriptions.

Web portal still no luck and don’t see it getting better now they have released new nvr system with subscription service can’t see then spending time and money for the free stuff

Out of curiosity, what’s your main reason for wanting to view events through the web portal instead of the Eufy app? I’ve always just used the app formy events, so wondering what the web version offers that you’re hoping to use. Would be interesting to hear how it fits your setup.

The web portal is only for live camera viewing unless you have cloud backup but one of the main reasons is the size of the screen for viewing the feed

Totally understand your frustration. The web portal is limited—you can’t view multiple live feeds at once, and local clips are encrypted, so you have to use the app or cloud. Many S330 users face the same issue. Hopefully, Eufy will fix this in a future update.

Agree with @donkellner on all points. Why is there no option to disable encryption if I am using local storage? If security is a concern, one alternative could be to allow disabling encryption and requiring additional factorial authentication to review events/clips instead. I also want to use the web portal to view events because it’s a larger screen. Scrolling through on the mobile app when you have dozens/hundreds of events is extremely tedious.

As for live feeds, I want to have a dedicated monitor setup to view all live feeds concurrently. I want to monitor my property as best as possible in near-time.
