When I walk int

When I walk into view to the right of my E30 it automatically rotates to the left, then rotates back to center and “sees” me and starts tracking me then. Why isn’t it tracking me as soon as I walk into view on the right This is enough time for someone to walk right up under the camera and not have their face seen.

Maybe a shadow or reflection on the left? Can you show us a photo or video from the camera?

There’s not really anything to show. The camera is pointing straight ahead, I walk into viewing range on the right side, it pans to the left and stays a second or so, then it pans back to center, sees me and then starts tracking me.

If it’s a shadow, it’s strange that the same exact shadow catches the camera’s attention every time I walk into view on the right.

I am wondering if it’s a shadow or reflection of you that is the first thing that breaks the frame (changes). A video will help us advise why it looks left.

OK. Here’s the video. And this is the SAME WAY it happens every time.

You’ll see my leg enter the picture on the right side, then the camera immediately pans left and stops, moves a very little bit and stops, then FINALLY comes back to center where it FINALLY picks me up.

That’s strange, I don’t see why it would pan to the left when it detects motion on the right?? It’s as if it’s programmed to do that, I wonder if there’s some setting.. as when motion is detected pan left.
I assumed you have drilled down on all the settings for AI tracking?
Turned AI tracking off, restart the camera and turn AI tracking back on.

OK. I’m trying your suggestion. I’ll test it again tomorrow.

Who knows? With a new toy, you never read all the directions before playing with it. Maybe I set something that causing this “issue”.

If this doesn’t work, maybe removing and re-adding will do the trick.

Thanks.

That is strange. I agree it’s not a shadow nor reflection. Check also the presets, there is an option to automatically switch between them. Another idea try setting an activity zone just to the right area.

Is there an option to reset to factory defaults? The documentation is sorely lacking, really. If I remove it, will that accomplish a reset?

I still need to check tomorrow and see if JD’s suggestion worked.

Also, setting it to maximum sensitivity for humans only still let a small cat set off the light and camera. I really didn’t believe that this system could be that good and differentiate between people and animals. But, a false positive is better than not catching the movement in the first place.

Removing a camera and re-adding it will reset its settings to default

Yes,@ogr10 said. Remove the camera / device from the app, and after that press the sync button down for 10 seconds until you hear two beeps or audio of camera resetting.

Your earlier suggestion worked. I sneak around the corner a bit to see which direction the camera is facing, and it’s pointing straight ahead. I get into its view and keep moving and immediately it turns to me (not the other direction as before) and starts tracking me.

Thanks jd164 and og10 for your suggestions.

I’ve got a question on these eufy camera/floodlights regarding windy and rainy weather.

I currently have a Feit camera/floodlight up on a post. The problem with this unit is that the wind and rain set it off, so on rainy or windy days, I keep getting false notifications all night long while the weather is “nasty”. How are these? The one you guys have been helping me with is under the eaves, so it won’t be getting direct contact from the rain. The Feit unit I’m thinking of replacing with a eufy unit is exposed to the rain. What would happen with the eufy if the camera iced up during the winter and couldn’t rotate?

The E30 is IP65 rated, that the floodlight is water-resistant & dust tight The device cannot be submerged in water, but it can stand up to rain, snow, condensation, and normal weather conditions.
Operational temperatures ranging from -4°F to 122°F (-20°C to 50°C).
Mounting it on a post be sure to use a weather tight junction box.

You may get occasional motion detection by heavy rain, if you have it set to detect all motion if it does occur you can just go into the app and uncheck it for the meantime.
