Why does it tak

Why does it takes 20 seconds to connect to my phone when doorbell is pressed

This is something many of us have been asking Eufy support for a very long time and I wish there was a great answer. In my experience the big culprits are poor or suboptimal wifi connectivity (thus slower upload times & increased delay) and the chosen settings in the eufy security app, which if you are setup to send notifications to your phone with THUMBNAIL included, then you must bear in mind that the app must be running on your device in the background (no battery optimization of any kind) and you must understand that an image must be captured by the camera and sent over wifi to the eufy cloud which then gets sent back down to your phone via the eufy security app as the app pushes out the notification to your device and you then respond by unlocking your device and tapping on notification, etc.etc.
Anything you can do to minimize the lag time is ideal…start by trying out differing notification settings and of course make certain your wireless connection between doorbell and router is good and strong. If it isn’t…try installing a mesh repeater / access point or simply relocate your router to slightly closer to that doorbell cam location. Double check your eufy app settings on your phone to be certain you aren’t using battery saving or power optimization settings for this app…depending on your device & other factors, this could be undesirable since eufy app has been historically very battery hungry. If you run any sort of battery saver or task manager app on your phone, be certain you WHITELIST the eufy app (exclude it from being automatically closed by your memory / battery saver), otherwise the app will require much longer to open and read into & out of cached memory before sending notifications or allowing you to access video clips saved on your devices.
Hope this helps you!

Hmmm

Many good points raised by @Brendon. Its also worth remembering that this is an encrypted channel and so the app needs to decrypt the communication in order to connect into it, though I personally haven’t seen it as long as 20 seconds, it does add a layer of delay in connecting to my cameras.

Great suggestions :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: ! I try them out this weekend if I have the time. My experience is clearly more than 20 seconds, because most visitors have left before I can react.

Actually, I have been thinking about a non-Wifi ( means a wired ) solution.
solution.
Does anyone have experience?
is there any eufy wired doorbell solution?
Thanks for any advice!
