I have the S340 right now and it’s been a great camera, but this new Eufy model with the strobe light feature would be a game changer for my situation. I live in an area where we occasionally get people walking too close to the property at night, and a sudden bright strobe would be the perfect way to startle them and make them think twice. I really like that it also has 4K resolution, which would make my recordings much clearer than what I get now. Being able to actually see faces, license plates, or small details in both day and night footage is important for peace of mind. The combination of the strobe light for immediate deterrence and the sharper video for evidence would make me feel even more secure.
Would love to be able to view faces a bit clearer. Don’t get wrong I am happy with my S220s, but they do seem to be lacking some abilities that would come in handy. Clearer footage and the ability to zoom in would be amazing!
I just purchased the S3 Max for the front door for my first Eufy product. So far my wife and I love it. The palm vein scanner is super neat. Now for my outdoor cameras I’m rocking an 8 year old, 5 camera 1080p setup which has been solid but I am looking at upgrading evenly to have home security on one platform. Having 4k is definitely the way to go, and built in strobe is pretty neat. I think cameras would continue to get better to prevent people from committing crimes, and with integrated AI should be able to detect such instances like playing a siren and strobes if someone is taking your package. I almost wish cameras could have like a laser and a water sprayer to deter unwanted quests. Also wish cameras could have better mics for like supersonic hearing. I want to hear what people are saying walking on the side walk.
Besides just recording, I would love a proactive camera that can actively deter intruders. My ideal security system would have two-way audio for direct communication and a built-in siren with a disorienting strobe light that activates upon detection. I’m especially interested in AI-powered features, such as human-specific motion detection to avoid false alarms from pets, and a facial recognition database to identify family and friends. To create a truly integrated security solution, the camera should seamlessly connect with my smart home, allowing it to automatically lock doors and turn on lights when an intruder is detected. A final, highly valuable feature would be the option for professional monitoring to quickly alert emergency services. This would be a game-changing enhancement for home security!
If I could add more features to my security camera to deter intruders, I’d love an AI-driven “smart deterrent mode.” It could recognize suspicious behavior—like lingering near doors or windows—and trigger escalating responses: first a friendly voice alert, then flashing lights, then a loud siren if they persist. I’d also like a two-way audio option with quick voice presets, so even if I’m busy, I can instantly respond. Finally, integration with my smart home system could lock doors, turn on all outdoor lights, and notify neighbors in real-time. This would make the camera a true proactive guardian, not just a silent witness.
I currently have the solo cam s340 monitoring my driveway and part of my backyard. It’s mounted on my storage shed and its hooked up to a solar panel located on the back side of the shed. I chose that position for the solar panel install due to that location getting sunlight at least half the day. I have had the s340 for about 10months now I believe and haven’t had to manual charge it even in the winter months. The secret is picking the right location and the right angle of the solar panel install.!!
I wish my cameras were clearer when my sister was visiting from out of town. A few hours after she left she asked if I noticed whether or not she was wearing both earring. They were a expensive gift from her fiance. I told her I hadn’t noticed but I checked the cameras. She’d pass about anywhere between 3 to 6 cameras on her walk to her car. From the footage I was able to see that her left earring was in but couldn’t get a clear view of her right ear, which was the one she was missing. There were several frames that were slightly too grainy to tell. I ended up searching the house for hours just in case since I wasn’t able to verify. She ending up finding it several weeks days later in her car.
I have a solo cam 430. I don’t think I have ever had to manually charge the battery since the install, almost 2 years ago. Love the camera. It’s in a great position and can view 50% of my property. A clearer image and some upgrades would make my eufy experience that much greater. Recommending eufy preducts and bragging all the time.
I would love to have a camera that can track, recognize the person, quick notification, solar, good connection, and clear image quality. But I want the camera too be smaller if possible. Anyway, all my cameras are eufy, I enjoy them all so far. Keep it up!
There have been many times when clearer security camera footage would have made all the difference. For example, during a nighttime incident when someone suspicious approached the property, the video captured only a blurry silhouette, making it impossible to identify the person or even determine if they were a real threat. In another case, a package was stolen from the front porch, and although the camera recorded the event, the grainy footage couldn’t reveal the thief’s face or the license plate of the getaway vehicle.
Yes. On several instances we have less desirable people walking the streets between 1:00am-5:00am pulling on vehicle door handles. Sometimes they rummage through vehicles and take items and sometimes they are unsuccessful at entering the vehicles. While my E340 floodlight shines a bright light and has a pretty clear picture, in the dark of night it is still difficult to see faces. A camera with 4K 8x zoom would be great at capturing a clear view of their faces.
There have been many times that I wish my cameras had a clearer picture, but there’s one situation that tops them all. My parents and I had a neighbor who was not quite right. He would throw items at our houses, spin his tires in order to fling gravel at my windows, and start extremely large fires when it was windy and then drive off. That’s just a hint as to what we dealt with.
Most times, our cameras weren’t clear enough to satisfy the police. The worst instance was when he tried to poison our dogs by throwing peanut M & M’s into the yard knowing that the dogs wouldn’t hesitate to eat them. Luckily we found them before the dogs. The cameras only showed the guy walking around his side of the fence, but the image was jumpy and blurry, so the police couldn’t do anything.
We no longer have that neighbor, but we have found out he’s out of jail and off his meds again. We are trying to add a few more cameras, just in case, since my mom and I are the ones that got his probation revoked. A camera with a clear picture, floodlight, PTZ, and siren are all feeling like a necessity.
I would love to be able to see some license plates better! Usually it seems my eufy pan and tilt solar camera is able to capture the license plate numbers, but occasionally it looks super blurry. This is especially true with cars driving by and not parking directly in front of the view. We have luckily not yet had an incident where we have needed to be able to read any license plates, but if something were to happen I would be concerned whether camera actually catch it. Perhaps it is because I have it set to auto track, but sometimes the auto tracking feels super bouncy & un steady. It will follow someone or something and the video is extremely shaky.
