Eufy SoloCam S340 Solar Wireless Outdoor Security Camera
I currently have two S340 cameras installed. One of them is mounted with a bracket to the gutter above my porch entrance, giving me a solid view of the approach. It covers part of the walkway and driveway, but with the new eufyCam S4, the coverage would be far greater.
With its bullet-PTZ design, the S4 could cover the full length of the walkway, a much larger portion of the driveway, and even extend into the garden. The auto-zoom, HD tracking, and smarter alerts would really enhance security compared to what I have now. I only wish this design had been available sooner!
eufyCam 2C, we have had a long and great life together keeping an âeyeâ out when my dogs are out playing. We have seen so many animals, wild and domestic, some not so scary such as cats but much more scary ones such as coyotes and skunks. One good memory is you helped me find out what animal, a rabbit, was eating my plants in the fenced garden and how it was getting in and out.
Itâs time to retire so you can enjoy those memories and let your son follow in your footsteps keeping âeyesâ over the entire garden and yard instead of just a small area. He will never leave his post to get powered up and never sleep recording 24/7. Also, he will be able to follow things around without losing site of the big area. Oh and of course if any strange humans stop by, we will know about it! You will be missed but never forgotten.
I have two S340 cameras installed in the backyard. They have good view but they do not cover backdoor. I miss motion alerts at the backdoor most of the time as the cameras does not have full view. With S4 it will cover both the views and I am eagerly waiting for the launch of it. Also I am excited for the faster tracking feature on S4 that really makes lot of difference.
Thanks Eufy for understanding customer needs and quickly innovating that gives customers wide variety of cameras to choose from. I hope S4 features will be added to floodlight cameras as well.
I am very excited for 24*7 recording and snapshots features that S 340 does not have. I was waiting for these features on S340 but with S4 Eufy not only solved this but also tracking wide view issue with 2 cameras.
My S40 camera served me well, kept an eye on my driveway but I do need a higher resolution camera, one that can also look around the corner, moving along with the targeted object. I use 10 Eufy cameras inside the house and out and I would definitely welcome the latest to the collection.
Do you all remember the EufyCam 2 pro 2k outdoor? Well, I sure do. It has been out there recording for years now. It still works. It still charges, but now the maximum charge is at around 80% of its original capacity. I love the old camera, it has 2k resolution, motion detection, and shows 140 degrees among other things. The problem with that is that the camera cannot follow people and the sensors are a little older. It is only a âsmartâ camera by todayâs standards if paired with the s3 homebase. However, i think it is time to upgrade to the EufyCam S4! I love the idea of a camera showing a wide field of view while it can follow people. The camera will not have any blind spots! I am so excited! Not only that, but the camera can auto-frame people at around 164 ft! Wow that is far! The upgrade will make my home camera system way smarter, clearer, and now it will not have blind spots! I plan to install 4 or more of the s4 cameras in order to be able to not have any blind spots in my front yard!
Goodbye, old camera! You were my first line of defense, but you often left me in the darkâboth literally and figuratively! Whether it was the low-light mishaps or the missed package thieves, it was clear we needed an upgrade. The eufyCam S4, however, is a game-changer. With its impressive 50-meter zoom, it can spot details from afar. Its low-light capabilities ensure nothing goes unseen at night, and the ability to track two areas at once means I can keep a better eye on multiple spots simultaneously. Constant missed events, minimal zoom, constantly blurry, only able to see a small area, no tilt or pan AND a monthly fee?

Thank you for your faithful service watching over part of my backyard; however, I would love to upgrade to the eufyCam S4 in order to see the interplay between the buck that is chasing the does. The ability to track the does/buck while keeping an eye on the fixed location would be perfect for catching it all on video (the beta pet detection works perfectly for the deer).
In addition, the new camera will undoubtedly be an upgrade to protecting the oudoor equipment that is stored beneath the shelter.

PS.. I used my E30 to take the photo of the S220 and the S220 is what took the video of the buck, which stays out of range of the E30.
Iâve been using the brand of camera shown for many years. I still have several mounted around the yard. But Iâve become increasingly dissatisfied with the brand. I have found that I cannot rely on them when I need the video.
I have recently purchased a couple of Eufy cameras. One reason, I am building up home automation and found that Eufy works great with Home Assistant. In the short time Iâve had them, I found that they are reliable and produce great results. Letâs hope for continued success as my plans are to replace all I have with Eufy.
I have a S330 camera security system. For some reason, all 5 of my cameras stopped recording/detecting at night. Any idea as to what setting may have gotten changed. I did have to bring one camera in to have it fully charged, and now none of them detect at night.

Iâd really like to upgrade to the S4 because my current setup with the eufy cam 3 only gives me coverage in one direction. As you can see in the photo, the camera is fixed above the garage and can only point straight out. While it does a decent job in that one spot, it leaves me with a lot of blind areas. This is a busy area with plenty of activity, cars pulling in and out, neighbors walking by, and deliveries being made. With so much happening from different angles, a fixed camera just isnât enough to keep up.
Thatâs why the S4 would be such a big improvement. The ability to rotate and track motion would allow me to cover the entire space without having to constantly worry about whatâs going on just outside of view. Instead of being stuck with one perspective, Iâd finally have peace of mind knowing that any movement around my property could be followed and recorded. For my situation, where thereâs always something happening, the S4 feels like the perfect upgrade to truly stay on top of everything.
Goodbye nest outdoor IQ, you were ahead of your time, you zoomed in, you had facial recognition but you never took the next step. I canât wait to upgrade to a new s4, multiple cameras in one device, different angles, pan tilt, solar powered so I am not restricted on having to have an outlet to plug it in. This is the future and I have always been hard on the eufy app for being buggy but honestly in the last month or so it has been great. Best thing of all I can pair it with my homebase 3 and do not need a subscription. I cannot wait!

I have the eufy cam 2c as well as the 2k front doorbell and I have had these two cameras since 2020. Now I canât say that these two cameras havenât impacted my life because that just wouldnât be true. Because my reasoning for getting these cameras in the first place was to try and help me heal. Heal from an almost deadly 3 year abusive relationship I was in and ever since then Iâve had PTSD, anxiety, panic, depression, agoraphobia, and among other issues from all of this. Well having these cameras has slowly got me better day by day except the past two years they havenât been working as well for me and also with the 2c I canât see to the driveway where my car is parked and my car has been hit twice recently and they took off. And also someone slashed by titres but wasnât able to see. The front doorbell has no volume anymore and barely catches any of the people walking up to my door. I donât want my symptoms to come back and as much as I love the head cameras I still have them cuz I canât afford to buy any new ones. But to be able to have the 24/7 recording and being able to actually see for once what is going on out to here would be so amazing and I would give anything to feel 100% safe for me and my kids when I leave my house and could be certain Iâm safe to enter back in! Please! Not to mention my 2c is about to fall off
Oh, Solocam S340, how shall I sing your praises? You have served admirably as my homeâs guardian, alerting me to my visitors and using your spotlight to deter those that would seek to do me harm.
And yet, I cannot help but marvel at your younger sibling, the eufyCam S4. You meticulously follow people, but in doing so you lose sight of the broader perspective, unlike S4, who can simultaneously stand vigil (via bullet) and track details (via PTZ). While I fear your awareness fading during the dark winter days, S4âs enhanced solar panel offers to make the most of the short winter sun. In S4, eufy has done it again: brought capabilities previously only available to PoE and wired cameras to the battery camera realm!
