App stuck at launch

I just received my eufy doorbell cam. And I just downloaded the app yesterday and tried setting it up but can’t get past the “spinning wheel”. I have restarted my phone, deleted and reinstalled the app, turned off wifi. And I still get this screen when launching the app. I’d love to use the doorbell. Any advice on getting past this?

Welcome to the wonderful world of Eufy, Jim.
I had a 2k doorbell kit initially with a homebase 2, but then tried a homebase 3 and a different doorbell. 5 weeks on 9f dealing directly with customer service manager, nothing has been fixed or improved

Strange. I never have any issues with settling up new devices. Does this model require a home base ? I think most door bell devices do. I’m sure you have followed set up instructions but I got to ask did you tap on the + tab at top right of home page to add devices? and set up from there picking your device from the list. You have to do initial setup with it fully charged and next to the home base.

Thanks for replying so quickly! Unfortunately the iphone app is stuck on the loading screen. I can’t click the “+” to even start the setup. I can’t click literally anything on the app. It just spins endlessly (i left it open for an hour) and came back to it. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the app. I have restarted my phone. I guess I’ll try one last time before giving up on Eufy altogether and return the doorbell. After the reviews, I was really looking forward to installing this doorbell and even getting a couple more cameras for the driveway and back porch.

Unfortunately i cant get past the start screen. I have tried everything i can think of and everything anyone suggested on these forums. At this point I have to assume its my iphone. I may reconsider trying eufy again when i get a new phone in the future. But i have to say customer support (or the lack of) has me questioning this.

Do you have another device you can do the initial setup with? Tablet - iPad.
Then maybe your iPhone will get pass the spinning wheel afterwards.

Thank you yes I was able to complete the inital setup with my wife’s iPhone. And, a day later the app started working on my iPhone. I believe this was just a coincidence but for whatever reason the app just started working on my phone. So I’m keeping the doorbell and have it mounted as of last week. Thanks to everyone who replied!

I just bought my EUFY yesterday and I am having the exact same issue. APP will not load, can’t click anything.

I also have this issue with the app
Got EUFYCAM 2C today and plugged it in and downloaded the app
Spinning wheel endless
I will get the wife to try setting it up
But not everyone has a wife or a secondary device to set these things up with

I have figured it out.
I had too many apps in memory, once I cleaned them out it started working.
A restart didn’t fix it as it seems iPhone must save state to disk on shutdown and put them back into memory on boot

Holy smokes! You’re a lifesaver @fom-2212322. I just received my door lock today and was ready to pack it up and return it out of frustration. Just closed all my apps and voila. Eufy really needs to solve this bug though…

I have the same problem. The app just won’t load. I tried all the suggestions here and nothing. I have a doorbell, two cameras and a Homebase arriving tomorrow that I just can’t use. Eufy support have been anything but helpful.

Anyone have other options? Will the hardware work on another app or should I just return the items.

I was due to record an unboxing review on social media but that seems lie a short video :frowning:

I tried this multiple times and nothing, still a big issue.

Hi Fjones. My 2k and s3 have never worked properly. It was working all be it with lag and now the only time I’m alerted is when it rains :joy:.
People have been waiting outside for as long as 5 minutes and I’ve had no idea they’re there.
On the off chance I should get an alert, to go to live view it hangs.
I’ve got mine on it’s own subnet with fixed IP addresses.
Honestly eufy products and their support are absolute toilet.
I spent 5 weeks send videos and even solutions.
They did and still haven’t done anything

I nearly returned my eufy doorbell. But, after over a week without being able to install the app on my iphone, I decided to install it on my wife’s iphone, even though I was going to return it if my iPhone couldn’t run the app. It worked without issue on her phone. Then, magically the app started working on my own iphone later that day. So I kept the doorbell, and it has been working for us since. I will say, I’m reluctant to purchase more eufy devices and become committed to their ecosystem. But the prospect of being able to record, and view, video from a home server is just better IMO than 1) having to rely on a company to host and 2) paying monthly for it. I hope you get a resolution. I can’t offer any resolution, I’m sorry. I just tried everything and eventually got it to work.

Maybe you’re phone has to many apps and phone storage is full. Try deleting some unused apps to free up storage space. You can check to see how much storage has been used by going to settings, general,iPhone storage it will tell you how much the phone can handle and how much it has used.

This usually happens due to a sync or network issue during the initial launch. Try switching between WiFi and mobile data, and also check if your phone’s date/time is set to automatic.

I had a similar issue when I download the app for another device, and clearing app cache plus reinstalling after a restart fixed the spinning screen problem.

Good job on problem solving!
