Brand new HomeBase 3: solid red light

Hi,

I’ve been trying to set up a HomeBase 3 (brand new, not refurbished).

All I get is a solid red light during set up. Twice I did see a flashing blue light, but as I was scanning the code under the base, the light went back to a solid red :face_with_peeking_eye:

Some notes:

  • I’m doing the set up on a 2.4 Ghz-only Wi-Fi
  • The Ethernet port and cable are working fine otherwise (I did try others); everything is tightly connected
  • Internet is working just fine overall
  • The IP address is a normal 192.X.X.X address and is not duplicated on the home network
  • The reset button does nothing. Probably because the HB3 is already in default mode (no devices have been registered)?

Hmmm. Do you have your phone also connected to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi while doing the setup and also Bluetooth needs to be turned on?

Initial setup can only be done with the ethernet cable connected to the HB3.

Unplug the power supply to the home base 3 wait 5 minutes and try to set up again.

Ah, turns out I had to remove the hard drive before doing the set up!

:thinking: interesting, though I do recall reading about that. Was there no install information stating do not insert hard drive before set up?

Curious did you purchase the HB3 with a hard drive already installed?
