Camera fails to trigger motion before the dog is right up the top of the garden (all motion detection and activation zone covers all the area)

Is the activity zone necessary? Can you post a screenshot of it.
You have the solar wall light cam, are you able to angle it away from the shed a little?
As straight on motion detection doesn’t perform so well, they prefer movement from the side.
Maybe you can place a spacer behind one of the mounting screws to pitch it.

Well, if you can try to pitch/angle one side the camera over so that you see the window of the shed to see if that helps/improves the detection.
Definitely the zones that you could set up with trigger on the s120 camera helps a lot definitely hope they keep coming with better upgrades and frameware because the camera really is nice especially with solar infrared day and night cameras but still have a little few bugs they need to work out with more sensitivity triggering pets humans dogs not sure if it’s just the camera Hardware or the camera lens
Turn the sensitivity up
Try adjusting the sensitivity to max. I had the same problem and it worked fine for me.
Are the different color active zone for each human etc..? Mine are set as wide as I can get them, is this wrong?

The different colors of the activity zones don’t make a difference. They will both detect all motion, they’re just different colors so you know what you’re working with.
