Has anyone else had a similar issue and if so how did you resolve it? I’m only interested in the camera monitoring our shed and fence, but it goes through periods of picking up motion every two minutes for seemingly no reason. There is motion in the rest of the garden (hanging laundry, cats, us, etc) but these are not included in the
activity zone. The camera is set to record all motion as it has previously failed to identify an intruder as human.
Yes. I am having the same problem. I don’t know if deleting and re-adding zones could solve it?
btw, I have tried adjusting sensitivity and setting custom recording to max delay between recordings…did not help. Also, beware that because of the runaway triggering, I have missed event recordings in the designated zones, which is upsetting…
I get this on one of my cameras in the back garden. In my case it’s the AI thinking it can see a person which is actually the table cover even though it’s out of the zone. Doesn’t happen all the time and just at night.
I reported it to Eufy who said turn down the motion sensitivity which made no difference. After a few goes at turning AI off and on, changing detection types, changing sensitivity and redrawing the detection zone, the only thing that worked was turning the alarm / detection light off completely. I think the light coming on seemed to make go into a loop of continually thinking it could see someone.
I have the same problem with my doorbell some days it’s non stop detecting ghosts tried all the eufy suggestions even the silly ones but it’s like it’s the main highway to heaven and hell
Well I am glad I am not alone but I am still without a solution. Things I have found that help: 1. Remove cobwebs from the activity zone (they reflect light during certain times of the day). 2. Keep bushes trimmed short, so no stray branches get picked up in windy moments. 3. Ensure the camera is fixed to a permanent unit (mine is attached to a fence panel which had a bit of a wobble and has now been secured).
Even with the above being done I do still get occasional ghost notifications, so if anyone else has recommendations please do share.
So, what I have heard is once you put - detect everything - it does just that. EVERYTHING! Regardless of the activity zone. I’m found that once I removed that, it detects whats in the zone. Unfortunately, as you noticed sometimes, it doesn’t go off at all. For me it’s not an issue, as I have cameras plugged in and recording 24/7 so I can manually scrub through the data. If your camera is battery operated - that’s an issue.
Try deleting and reinstalling usually fixes most problems
I adjusted my zones and sensitivity and it has helped with excessive notifications, but maybe too much! Turned the sensitivity back up, and still haven’t gotten more than a handful of notifications…
It’s solar powered but it’s easy to reach so I just top up it’s power from a battery pack if I need to. I did delete and re-add zones (many times), but I didn’t find this helped.
I’ve noticed that the activity zones aren’t very precise.
Like picking up movement outside of the zone, make the Activity Zone smaller in increments until unwanted motion is not detected.
