It says in the manual that you can’t connect a external hard drive. I’m sure you are aware you can get larger internal hard drives some work better than others. You can also plug into port 1 on the back a usb drive and under home base tap on video archive and then it will bring up a calendar where you can pick a date and time line of video to store on usb. Unfortunately you can’t pick specific videos but just a time line. Then you can view the drive through your computer or get a card reader to plug into your phone. You might need a app to help read the video smoothly but that’s no big deal.

In addition to the usb archive to an external drive, you can purchase and install a 2.5 internal hard drive up to 16TB to act as your main hard drive.
