Can't create a 2nd Preset Position

I can’t set a second preset position on my S350 running System 1.5.5.0, recording to an S380 HomeBase running 3.7.3.6. App is running on iPhone and it’s the latest version. Here are my steps:

  1. A Preset Position is already stored into the default slot in the Presets tab
  2. I use the Pan and Tilt controls to reposition the camera
  3. In the Presets tab I click on the second slot, which is empty and has a + sign in in
  4. The slot does not highlight in blue, instead a popup appears that says “Calibration Pan and tilt is calibrating…”
  5. The camera spins around and returns to the default position
  6. Still in the Preset tab, I can now highlight an empty slot, but my camera is in the default position so there’s no point in doing that.
  7. When I exit out of the Presets tab and try again I get the same behavior.

I answered my own question so I’ll put the answer here for anyone else also confused by this in the future:

While you can use the Pan and Tilt tab to move the camera then save that position as your first “default” preset in the Presets tab, to save additional presets you have to move the camera while still in the Presets tab (and not go back to the Pan and Tilt tab):

  1. In the Presets tab, click on an empty slot
  2. Let in recalibrate. This will send the camera back to the default position
  3. Click on the empty slot AGAIN and it should highlight blue
  4. While still in the Presets screen press and hold on the sides of the SET button to reposition the camera, that’s what those tiny white dots are on the outside of the set button. Just try to press and hold the outer ring. If you press the middle it will set a new preset.
  5. NOW press SET to save the position into the new slot

That SET button doesn’t look like a pan/tilt tool but it is. This is just a poorly designed screen.
