Hello everyone, I recently bought a kit that includes a HomeBase3 and 4x E42 cameras. The cameras are all updated/fully charged/fully paired with the base. The base is connected to my router via Ethernet (very close to the router). One of the cameras (front door) works fine, the other 3 (backyard) do not connect. I used to have other cameras in the same area and they connected to my wifi with no problems. What can I try ? The distance of the cameras from the base is about 10-12 meters. Thank you
There’s a setting in the home base which you can try setting it to, it may help…
Homebase > gear at top right > General > Working Mode _ Performance.
Thank you, it was already set to Performance. I am in contact with support, let’s see where this goes. Unfortunately at the moment they say Home Base 3 does not support repeaters.
Keep me updated on what they say…
Yeah unfortunately you can’t use a repeater between the HB3 and cameras.
There might be some type of Wi-Fi interference going on, can you move the HB3 away from your Wi-Fi router and still use your ethernet cable connection?
I already did that, it’s about 3 meters away (still connected with ethernet) but I can’t move it further. Will keep you posted on what they say, thank you
Set the Homebase between the front and the back areas and hope for the best.
Basically they said trying to move the HB3 closer to the problematic cameras is the only solution for now. Eventually I could try to switch to wifi instead of HB3, but I think I’ll start by analyzing wifi signal strength for different HB3 positionings. I’ll ask them if switching to wifi would let me use signal boosters (I guess so…), and if any other system they make has better performance in terms of connection.
The app will show you the signal strength of the Wi-Fi for each cameras.
Figured they say put the HB3 in a central location or near the cameras that have poor Wi-Fi reception.
You could ditch the ethernet cable and connect the HB3 via Wi-Fi, you would have more of an option for its placement, though the ethernet cable is a better connection…
You could also use a Wi-Fi repeater or mesh nodes between the two,HB3 & home’s Wi-Fi if needed.
