Dear Eufy Exper

Dear Eufy Experts!

Today, I got the power outage at my country house and seems that I have Wrong set up of my cameras as all of them stopped recording during the outage,

even if all of them got full charge batteries

Fun fact: 2 quite old and very cheap OverMax cameras (also battery based) keep recording during the outage - so it must be a set up problem

My question: How I should Set up the cameras To properly use their batteries and record all of the incidents during the power outage

Hello, if your cameras are recording onto your HomeBase it would be wise to connect it to an UPS battery backup or some other power source in the event of a power failure.
When the HomeBase Powers off the cameras cannot record onto it even though the cameras are still operational.
This would temporarily power the homebase for a while until it’s battery depletes.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts
(But) I hope you must be mistaken
If it’s true, it means that it is not a real security system but just a toy and I cannot believe it

If we have battery camera with local storage, it is obvious for me that records need to be storage into this device until the homebase will not download it

so it is or it should be kind of a liquid transfer system when the small devices are keeping data at the first place sending them to the homebase on the second place and then AWS Cloud as a third
So typical 123 backup architecture

If it’s not, I can sell all of the products that I got at once

Just to doublecheck, if any other expert from EUFY can try to answer the question how to set up backup on the local device when the homebase is not available

Thank you

unfortunately some of there cameras rely on the home base for recording only. There are a couple that have built in storage in the camera but if it is bound to a home base instead I don’t think it will switch automatically to camera storage during a power outage it’s either the base or camera. that would be a great option though. Eufy did just release a new home base pro that does have a built in back up battery power they claim is good for 24 hours depending on how many cameras are connected. It is a little expensive but it’s on sale and they are offering a trade up deal for giving you credit for your older home base. and I think you get to keep your old base but don’t quote me on that.
