Door Bell Camera issue

Guys,

I have the doorbell camera hardwired. Ever 2 months or so it jumps over from wired to battery. then I have to remove the power and back on to get it to go back on hardwired. WHY???

this is a very poor design. If its hardwired it should use the transformer power and NOT the battery. Is there anyway to fix this?

Be sure validate the AC wall wart has adequate power to operate the camera. An under-rated AC power supply or poor wiring from the adapter to the camera can cause this issue where the door bell switches from one source to another. Also, instable commercial power at the adapter site. Is the wiring in the outlet tight? Does the adapter fit snug in the outlet? If the instabilities and potential electrical issues can be validated as “ok” then reach out to eufy.

I.e. “camera” I meant doorbell.

Hi, which doorbell model do you have?

I’m pretty sure that’s the way it’s supposed to work, you don’t want the battery to be charged at 100% all the time.
Battery voltage needs to cycle or it will fail when needed.

Next time it jumps to battery power leave it alone and see if it returns back to wired power. I’m going to say it will return to wired power when battery percentage level is around 60 to 80%.

Point taken. You may be correct about this. Thanks for follow up.
