Eufy has the E10 smoke detector, but well, it’s just a smoke detector that beeps when smoke is detected, and works via the Homebase. That’s all.
Eufy, you can do better!
Google has discontinued their popular Nest Protect smart smoke/carbon detector, and many users are now looking for an alternative.
Eufy, there’s a market for you!
A smart smoke detector with the following features:
- Smoke plus heat and carbon sensor, certified for US, CAN, EU
- Wired 120V/230V version with back-up battery, and a battery-only version
- Clear spoken warnings and notifications, in multiple languages
- Monthly self-test of sensors and siren
- Monthly report in the app and/or by email, with the status of the sensors and batteries
- Warning in app when mains power is cut
- Green status LED brightness adjustable in normal or dimmed (for less light in the night)
- Standalone, inter-connectable, and Homebase connection
SALES BOOSTERS:
- Internal motion and light sensor
- Night path light controlled by motion sensor
- Adjustable night path light brightness
- Internal 360 camera that sends images when smoke/heat/carbon/motion are detected
- Temperature sensor and humidity sensor, for additional functions and information
Right now, First Alert has the best case scenario with its SC5 smoke/carbon detector. This is essentially the old Nest Protect. However, users are reporting issues with the app, so there’s room for improvement. And not approved for the EU market.
Place Homesolutions is also trying to become a market leader with its own feature-rich smart smoke detector. However, it’s quite expensive. And not approved for the EU market.
There are also some other smart smoke detectors with multiple functions, such as Owl, but they seem to have been discontinued. And most of them are also not approved for the EU market.
So, Eufy, surprise us!
