Firmware update 3.7.6.8 (Homebase 3) draining battery on S3 Pro's

Dropping at least 15% battery per day on all 6 of my S3 Pro cameras starting after the auto-update to firmware 3.7.6.8.

Anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Seems to be complaints on Reddit as well.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Have the exact same problem. Firmware 3.7.6.8 battery drain issue on my S3 Pros
Edited… It also affected my S340s

All of my cameras are draining extremely fast all of a sudden. No cold weather, no excessive events (barely any). I switched it over to optimal battery but doubt it will change anything much. Used to get almost 2-3 months on a charge, now get less than 5 days. Makes no sense, has to be a firmware issue.

Same problem. I am returning mine. Super frustrating. Worked for over 3 months. Now all 4 for my S4s are dead in less than a week.

Usage spiked out of nowhere.

That is strange

I think it’s definitely a firmware issue based on others having the same problem triggered by the firmware update. I have been in contact with CS and they just pushed a new firmware to my Homebase. Hopefully that fixes the issue. I’ll report back.

A workaround for me was that my batteries were only draining when set to ‘Away’ mode. I changed to a ‘Custom’ mode instead with the same settings as ‘Away’ and that stopped the battery drain. Not a fix - but a workaround while waiting for a new firmware update.

The new firmware I received from customer support fixed the issue. No more battery drain :+1:

I recommend everyone with the same issue to get in touch with CS and ask for a new firmware update.

Why should everybody go to CS and ask? They should provide a fix for anyone. I assume this is a general problem. Which Firmware Version did you receive?
Today I saw an update for the Homebase to version 3.7.8.4

3.7.8.4 is the one I got. I agree it should be fixed for everyone. But if it’s not then good to make them aware this is a big issue that should have high prio.

Good to hear the fix is rolled out :+1:

I am having the exact same issues

After several days of back and forth with customer service they have just pushed the new update to my home base. Hopefully this solves the issue. I’ll let folks know in a few days. If it works, I wish they’d just push it out to everyone instead of solving these one at a time. They must have their reasons for not yet doing that.

I created a ticket week ago having exact same issues with solocam and s4 solar cameras. Batteries drainjng within a day ir two plus terrible connection issues. The Homebase firmware version 3.7.8.4 fixes everything, I have been running this version for 5 days and battery drain and connection issues all fixed. It’s a shame they pushed such a broken firmware version in January sloppy testing but now resolved.
The Homebase firmware 3.7.6.8 is seriously flawed draining batteries and connection issues.
New Firmware version 3.7.8.4 has fixed battery draining and connection issues.
You may have to ask them to push new firmware not sure it’s been officially rolled out.

Most likely what was causing the battery drain, is that the camera was constantly searching for its Wi-Fi connection, and failing, constantly attempting to reconnect.

Confirm that. New firmware corrects the issue.
