Hello! Even i

Hello!
Even in direct sunlight I have found the solar panels cannot keep these cameras charged on default settings. In one night, it will go from full charge to 20%.

Support tickets are extremely slow as well. I have noticed 98% false triggers. I’m wondering if that is the cause of the battery drain.

Plug it in, take off the solar panel & add rain/sun cover for it. Eufycam S4 will work better hands down ( plus full use of cameras abilities) :victory_hand:t3::slightly_smiling_face:

Check your performance settings, if it is on max it will drain without hard wiring

What is a rain/sun cover?

I pulled it way back on settings. Still the same drain.

So no solar. While I am sure this camera performs 100% on wall power, the advertising stated it could under solar as well

It Probably can, I wanted 24/7 recording and the other added features you can’t get when using the solar… So I run a power adapter cord.. it also helps with missed detections video/clips having 24/7. :heart_exclamation::victory_hand:t3:

You can reduce the detection distance and other recognition settings to prevent unwanted detection.

The balanced power setting will also prevent long unwanted recordings. In that setting you can also see the statistics for power usage and amount of solar power being collected to determine what is draining your cameras battery. That would also help you adjust your settings to reach a more desired configuration.

You have a perfect location to hard wire your S4. you could jumper a power plug for the camera from your flood light. The only issue would be if the light has a turn on or off you might end up turning the power off when you turn the light off. Talk to an electrician if your not handy working with electricity. A rain cover could be just moving the camera under the eaves to protect it from rain or snow. Also hard wire would give you 24/7 coverage.

As you can see in this app image, the door cam has the 'solar panel" icon illuminated. I actually ran a power cable out my door and plugged it in. The garage camera is in direct sunlight and it does not illuminate the panel icon.

I don’t think these solar panels perform as advertised. I paid extra for these unit and am unhappy with the solar performance.

It’s 27ft from the camera to the sidewalk, I’m currently set at 23ft and pulled the sensitivity back to 3. Didn’t help.

Why pay extra for the solar?

I would set it to two and see if your detection decrease and power consumption reduces.

Also, check your power statistics to determine what is consuming the most and adjust your settings.

Is the mount for the corner an Eufy product? I’m going to mount my E340 on a corner and like your mount. Also the cover is a great idea as well.

Yes it’s a eufy comer mount, you can find some a few dollars cheaper but the drilled holes for mounting eufy cameras are threaded made mounting my camera easier. The covers work well, also have one one my solocam E42 :victory_hand::+1:
