I am thinking of upgrading my homebase 2 to homebase 3 but I have got lots of Door entry sensors which are glued to the doors and windows. How do I sync them to the new homebase without taking them off? If I take them off to sync then it won’t stick again. Is there anyway to transfer to the new homebase?
Hi,
I don’t have the door entry sensors but, I’m pretty sure that the QR code is on the back of the device.
Just open it as if you were going to replace the battery in it.
Thanks for your reply but I need to press the sync button on the device and keep it close to the homebase to add it. I am not sure how to add it using the QR code.
Okay you can use the sync button. I don’t know where the location of that button is.
You shouldn’t have to remove the entry sensor completely off the wall just the front cover of it, as if you were going to replace the battery. Use a small flathead screwdriver or something similar and pry it open from the top. I added a photo for you.
No problem happy to help
Now just if you didn’t know… The new HomeBase 3 can only connect to your home network using the ethernet cable port. It does not have the capability to connect to your wireless network.
A few folks don’t realize that until they receive it.
Upgrade to the latest firmware (latest is 3.1.5.9 – must be 3.1.5.1 or greater for wifi) on the HomeBase3 (S380) and you will be able use the phone app to change to WIFI (under SETTINGS > GENERAL > CONNECTION – amazingly let’s you pick your SSID to use then enter your password ! Then you can unhook from your router, power down and move to new location and powerup and it connects to the Wi-fi. Still no easy way to move devices from old Homebase to a new one (that I have found).
