Hi Eufy Communi

Hi Eufy Community,

Anyone with a Solocam s340 and seeing it fail to be able to move (automatically or trying to pan or snap to presets)?

Recalibration fails too when I try. And turning it off and on again doesn’t resolve either. Have latest firmware installed. However, manually moving the camera slightly seems to get it back to where it can move again for several days but then ends up with similar behavior where it seems stuck.

Any advice would be most appreciated!

Check for dirt, grit, cobwebs in the base where it swivals. When you move it manually does it easily and smoothly move?

Thanks agr10 for sharing those suggestions. I will double check a bit further in case there might be something like that in the base, but nothing obvious on the exterior of the base when I checked earlier. Also it did seem to move freely when I manually rotate it, and didn’t feel impeded in any way throughout the 360 degrees I took it though. Then afterward I used the app and it could snap to preset positions and I could also pan. It could also autonomously move with AI tracking. I was suspecting low battery (but it’s great at 96% consistently on average) or a bad firmware update.

I’ve seen similar issues reported with pan-and-tilt cameras. Since recalibration and restarting haven’t helped, it could be a mechanical issue with the motor or gimbal. I’d recommend checking for anything physically blocking the movement and then contacting Eufy support if the issue keeps returning.

Thanks anjelinajoli788 for your suggestion, and good to know that you’ve seen similar issues reported too.
