I had a package stolen off my porch and my camera did not detect it. So I tried to replicate the theft. I dropped a box on the front porch. The camera reported to me that I had received a package. I then went out the back door and approached the front door from the right hand side which is partially blocked. I then quickly went up the steps and grabbed the box and backed off the porch as quick as I could. The camera sent me a notification that the package was picked up but it didn’t catch me in the video doing it. Not a fast enough response time.

its such a narrow area it would be hard for any camera to pick up something. I suggest moving the doorbell camera out into the open area or put another camera out there. You can set up a automation that when it triggers it starts the doorbell recording
Thanks for your feedback. I do have another camera (S340) out monitoring the front yard and access to the porch but if the thief came close to the front of the house across the edge of the garden then it would not pick them up. I guess I have a gap in my security and the culprit is smart enough to know how to avoid the cameras.
