I Have the HomeBase S380, it fails to format the SSD that I put in it, any suggestions?
Try a different brand, pretty sure Eufy has a list of compatible drives.
I have a Kingston SSD, which was on there compatible list, I also tried one which wasn’t on the list. Homebased wouldn’t format either.
Try doing a hard reset of the HB3 and leave the SSD in. If that doesn’t work, then try removing it and putting it back in. As the HB3 not formatting either drive, have you tried formatting said drives in a computer? If you can format them in a computer, format them to Fat32 (yes I know the limit size for fat32 portions etc) or NTFS (preferably NTFS) then pop it into the HB3 to see if it recognizes it and will format it.
I had this happen to me once when I tried to upgrade to a 5TB drive it took 3 attempts to get it to finally format after resetting HB3, unplugging it, uninstalling the drive and reinstalling. But ultimately I ended up removing it and putting back in the original 1TB drive because the 5TB playback was terrible video quality it was glitchy.(I think a bad drive even though it was a good brand)I just bought a 2nd home base 3 recently because I now have so many cameras and bought a cheap 1TB drive from Amazon and it formatted perfectly and so far is working perfectly (Western Digital Blue $45 at time I purchased it)
What sort of drive do you have IchatMan58 ?
A SATA 3 drive may be better
If you have a old cell phone that you do not use anymore you could put this memory card in that phone and factory reset the phone it’ll ask you if you would like to format the SD card select yes. Simplest way to do so
