Homebase 3 cannot format new hard disk (500 GB Seagate)
Keep receiving hard disk format error message. Anybody experienced same and how to rectify.

Have you tried the hard drive in anything else, it could be you got a defective drive. Get a USB hard drive enclosure (useful thing to have) connect it to a PC and see if the PC “sees” the hard drive, if not HD is busted send back for exchange

I had that error with an SSD, could connect to my laptop and desktop fine, just not my HB3. After I reformatted it to exfat I could plug it in and it formatted in HB3 fine

Is the hard drive new? If so, does it need to be formatted?
I am considering expanding the storage on my Homebase 3 too, can anyone recommend a reliable brand pls?

Is it an SATA SSD hard drive? This is the one I purchased on Amazon and I have no problems here.

Yeah the homebase isn’t running anything difficult fot todays hard drives,lif you get a really good one, it’s kind of a waste of money. I got a seagate but it’s not the best one so that way I got 4TB for the price of 1TB

I was able to format in the homebase using the app
