Homebase 3 not recording to hard drive

Hello: For several years I operated my (2) EUFYCAM2 and floodlight camera with Homebase 2. Performed flawlessly. Then I updated to Homebase 3. Connecting my cameras to Homebase 3 was a snap. Recently I installed a 500GB solid state hard drive to increase storage capacity. The system seems to “see” the hard drive as under Storage Managment it says 500GB 100% available. I have run the system for two months but it is not recording to the hard drive which remains at 100%. My understanding is that as soon as you install a hard drive, the system should automatically record to the hard drive. For whatever reason, this is not happening. Can someone please advise what I have to do to get the system to record on the hard drive?

I’ve found that you need to go to the home page and selected the homebase and make sure the footage is actually being saved into the homebase memory and not cloud memory/etc.

Are the cameras connected to the HomeBase3 with the Edge Connection activated?

If you didn’t format it when you installed the HD, you’ll need to do that. Look for an option under storage > click on the drive.
It only takes a few minutes to format, then it should work correctly.

Yes I believe so. On my app----Garage has joined Homebase
Store video to Homebase3----ON

I did see the format requirement and follows the instructions. App said format completed sucessfully.

I don’t understand why you need home base at all when you can use SD cards. Pls someone educate me…

Much more storage. Better functionality with homebase app. Create group control through homebase app… and more

I think Homebase can offer additional AI processing power that individual cameras cannot. Also recording to an SSD inside the house means less chance of losing footage if someone steals your camera with an SD card?

Good points. I like the AI feature. Can identify people before opening the door.

Hello

I have 2 new cameras, solocams, one is having problems with the solar panel, it shows charging when I put it back on its bracket then stops? Any one had this issue? Other is charging fine on the panel. Cheers

 okay, I did read that it would take many video clips for the hard drive to actually decrease in percentage used.
So it could be possibly recording to the HD.
If you want to test that out, unplug the power cord to the HB3 then remove the HD and then power her back up, wait a few minutes for it to boot up.
Now try to view the recorded videos that should have be on the hard drive. If you can’t then it means it’s recording to the HD.
