I recently purchased a Eufy E30 indoor camera as we were going to be away from home for a while. The camera is reporting sounds that we haven’t heard in our house before. They sound like the sound an analog clock or watch makes when it marks seconds but are spaced by about 5-6 seconds. Has anyone experienced something similar?
Is this when you’re viewing the camera through Live View or do you have sound detection engaged and the ticking sound is loud enough to have an event recorded?
Can you post a video of it either from live view or if an event was recorded.
It’s the latter: I have sound detection engaged and the ticking sound is loud enough that the camera detects it as noise inside the house. I lowered the sensitivity level for sound and ensured the latest firmware version is installed.
Attached is a recording of the event.

The issue that you are experiencing is the camera switching between regular daytime use and night vision. The balance of light in the room is confusing for the camera, so until the room either gets lighter or darker you will see this effect.
I don’t have the option to change the lighting in the room. The house isn’t always unoccupied and lighting will change as day turns to night. Is there really not a fix for this issue?
I think the issue is when night vision engages the IR lights are illuminating the surface area that I circled, and the camera lux sensor which determines when it should turn on or off is picking up that reflection of brightness from the IR (infrared) lights.
Perhaps putting a dark colored cloth on top of that surface may reduce that reflection.
You could also try turning off Auto Night Vision so it will just record in color, though it may be too dark to see anything, but if this camera has a spotlight option it would help to see better.
