is there s way

is there s way to change the order of my device? I don’t especially like the newest added going to the top of device list.

Yes if you go under setting and device display order you can arrange the order you would like:) hope that helps

Thank you I got it handled. Now I have a different question about using a hard drive over an ssd. I plan on using an external HDD instead in internal HDD or expensive SSD…think I can pull this off by using modern SATA III cable that will handle 6Gbps to run from the internal port on home base3 to the external HDD. I’m really concerned about what the extra heat of a HDD will do when that home base heats up too… I want the dull 16tb drive, but not gonna peel the crazy amout for a 16gb SSD. Can get a 16tb HDD way more reasonably priced. So if the cable idea can work in pulling the trigger on this operation.

Say I’m not sure Bout all that running the external cable to run to N external recording device… But if you javelin a newer HB3 you can run unlimited storage… 16TB isn’t the full amount of storage you can use on it… On the new ones you can add all the storage you want…
Read the owners guid they send with it to verify how much it’ll take…

Due to the way that the HomeBase 3 is made you’d end up having to leave the hard drive slot open, or partially open which would leave the insides open to dust, dirt, debris and foreign objects. Would a 2.5" SATA HDD in the HomeBase 3 tray work potentially? Possibly more expensive than a 3.5", but not as expensive as an SSD.

Mu main concern of that is heat load on both the eifi base3 and the HDD…much bigger problem is 3.5 HDD peak and normal power requirements pulling potentially unsafe amounts of power from the eufi sata cable…even if one were to splice in a 12v power supply into the sata cable for the disk motor, when the sucker spins up it can draw around 25 watts…yikes on what that does on the 5v leg going to the eufy brain box. I suspect low voltage moments every time it spins up ain’t gonna be good for the eufy homebase lifespan. But the poinct you hit on of using a 2.5 is what I arrived at. But it’s a 2.5 that isn’t the normal 7mm thick, its 15mm and won’t fit normal applications and tends to be a bit cheaper. Those the hunt on Amazon and similar sites hunting for just what I wantc about ground me toca a stop. I got a work around for getting the cover sealed without any modification to the unit itself to keeping dust and potential critter. A bit of research went a long way. Thanks so much for your imput as well good sir.

It seems that there is a bit of work on what you want to achieve.
You mentioned the concern about heat, the HomeBase3 does have an internal fan.
