Mains Power and installation

It’s alive :partying_face:

So after reason around I finally discovering that my bell wasn’t keeping power because although it was connected to my bell it wasn’t receiving enough power asked to know it was the battery :battery: icon would turn to a plug :electric_plug:.

So after some research, I purchased and installed a suitable Bell Transformer and housing.

I finally have the Green Plug Icon, no more charging for me. :blush:

For those of you also struggling to get the illusive green plug these are the details of the transformer and housing I used.

Purchased from Screwfix (UK)

Housing = Wylex NH ESE2 IP40 2-Module Unpopulated DIN Enclosure £3.55

Bell Transformer = British General Fortress 8-24V AC 8VA Bell Transformer Module £8.31

Transformer wiring guide.
Bottom
Live (brown) = left
Neutral (blue) = right
Top
Neutral = 0
Live = 24v

Housing
I used a multitool to cut holes in the top and bottom of the back to allow access for the wires.

For future knowledge a multimeter will tell you how much voltage and current is being delivered over an electrical circuit. Cheap tool and extremely useful for electronics and electrical stuff electricians use them constantly
