Morning, I've o

Morning, I’ve only had my Eufy system a week.
1st issue - no events have been recorded from last night to this morning - I did a restart on my homebase 3 - it’s tracking me but not showing anything from inside or outside - what do I need to do please?
2 issue - ring doorbell isn’t picking up any animal movement at night - it’s on the highest sensitivity and everything is ticked?

Any help would really be appreciated - I’ve broken it after 1 week of use!!!
Thank you

Hello

:white_check_mark:

Issue 1: No events recorded overnight – HomeBase 3

What could be wrong:

  • Recording mode might be set to a mode that doesn’t trigger recordings (like “Custom” with no actions).
  • The storage drive (if you added one) may not be formatted or is full.
  • Motion detection settings may be too restrictive (e.g. “Human Only” when there’s no person).
  • The HomeBase or cameras could be out of sync after the restart.

What you should do:

  1. Check your Security Mode:
  • Go to the Eufy app > Security tab .
  • Make sure the active mode (e.g. “Home” or “Away”) has actions like “Detect motion” + “Record video.”
  • Tap “Edit” on the mode to confirm that each camera is set to record when motion is detected.
  1. Check storage:
  • Go to HomeBase 3 > Storage > Local Storage .
  • If you added your own hard drive/SSD, it must be formatted by the app first.
  • If full, set it to auto-delete old files .
  1. Test motion:
  • Go to Camera Settings > Motion Detection .
  • Set it temporarily to “All Motions”, not “Human Only” — especially if it’s dark or if no one walked by directly.

Issue 2: Doorbell not picking up animals at night

Possible reasons:

  • Most Eufy doorbells default to “Human Only” detection — which excludes animals.
  • Even at max sensitivity, you must manually enable “All Motions” to capture pets or wildlife.
  • Night-time infrared performance can also affect smaller objects or animals unless they’re directly in the frame.

What to do:

  1. Enable All Motions:
  • Go to Doorbell Settings > Motion Detection > Detection Type , switch from “Human Only” to “All Motions.”
  1. Activity Zones:
  • In Detection Zones, make sure you haven’t drawn zones that leave out the area where the animal passes.
  • You can try removing zones completely just for testing.
  1. Camera angle:
  • If mounted too high, small animals won’t be well detected. Slightly tilting it downward can help.

Are you only using the Doorbell?
