Recordings disappeared

Looking for help recovering recordings that have disappeared.

I have a Home Base S380, and 4 battery cameras. The base has a 1TB drive and has been working ok recording videos for 2 years. But looking at the previous history using the iphone app, there are no recordings before March 25, 2025 (today is May 12,2025) I have cleared the cache on the iphone by Offloading and Reinstalling it. There were 2 firmware updates around that time.

Is it an SSD drive in the homebase? When you look at storage what does it show? It should record over the oldest recording when it gets full. Also try a USB drive inserted in the homebase as a last resort you could try archiving to the USB drive.

If the 1TB gets full the older videos get overwritten and they’re gone. Option 1 to save videos are to plug a thumb drive into port 1 on the back of the HB and archive the videos you want onto it before they get overwritten. option 2 is a larger hard drive they say it can hold up to a 16TB drive but They get expensive that big and I’ve only seen 5TB actually available and will still get overwritten when it gets full. but recording only events it should hold a lot. Option 3 is to upload “events “ you want too save to your phone photos album.

There is only 4.25GB used on the spinning drive so that is not the issue. I could try the usb archive option but I suspect it will only backup the recordings that are “visible”

And I just verified that Archive only indicated recordings back to March. None before. And they only accounted for 1.5 GB of the 4.29 GB total.

UPDATE:
I successfully downloaded the March-May Recordings via Archive, by selecting the dates showing a DOT · next to the day.
Since it only used 1.5 GB space I thought the older videos must still be there.
Next I tried selecting the dates for all of 2024, and Jan-March this year.
This actually worked, with 1120 items for 2.6 GB. So even though the App seems to only see some of the videos, they are apparently still there.
This is good news since I have a replacement HomeBase coming soon and will need to move the drive to it. Don’t know if it will want to reformat the drive or will just continue as-is.

 Hmmm. Maybe there’s an error with the hard drive? Previous recordings could be corrupt?
I read this on eufy support site..

The video recordings are stored in the extended hard drive as a priority and will be stored in built-in storage after HDD is full.
does the HB3 have an option for overwrite?
could the videos be stored on the internal memory storage?

Drive is fine. I was able to archive 2+ years of recordings, but they are not all marked with a DOT on the App. So I had to select every month and see what was there.

I didn’t see your updated post before I sent my reply.
Good that you figured out the archive download.
So it must be a bug then with the actual app not allowing you to go back that far to view recorded videos?

Could be a bug. They have released a bunch of changes to the APP this year.
My takeaway lesson is to periodically Archive a couple of months of recordings and save on my Synology where I can actually organize and easily access them as needed.
